Certificate of Excellence
Built in the 18th century by the Saxon king, August the Strong, as a pledge of love to his mistress and faithfully restored in 1995, Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski is a beautiful combination of historic glory and modern design. The hotel offers 182 elegant rooms, 32 luxurious suites and culinary excellence from five different venues including: the gourmet restaurant Intermezzo, the Palais Bistro, the Restaurant Lesage in the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen, Cafe Vestibul and the Karl May Bar. In addition, there are six elegant conference rooms on the Bel Etage and a divisible meeting and ball room. The Taschenbergpalais offers five-star catering services in and around Dresden. The hotel has also its own spa lounge with a pool, which is going to be closed for modernization from Monday 19 February 2018.

Spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and wonderful location, next to the old town and several museums. We were in Dresden for five days. Good service, and several good restaurants in the same building as the hotel. Great stay!

This hotel was just fine at its price, but the experience between Berlin and Dresden was pronounced. We were mostly affected by well-intentioned but not particularly capable concierges. I can echo the reports of the other people who have answered this question. The junior suite that I stayed in was beautifully updated. It is definitely the best hotel in Dresden. And, the staff could not be better.

Sorry if this arrives too late. Rather than get off at Postplatz, we continued to the next stop, Theaterplatz. You go past the hotel, and then walk back. It's not far. The trams were a very convenient way to get round... More
