Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Room and bathroom were small but comfortable, shower was good and the online check-in and automatic check-out is a very nice option that will save you time. Reception had limited hours but they were very helpful and friendly and the WiFi was your typical hotel WiFi, usable for basic browsing and checking your e-mail.
It's well situated, about a 5 minute walk from Rheydt Hauptbahnhof, restaurants and both a supermarket and kiosk close to the hotel. It's close to a fairly busy street so it can be a bit noisy with the window open (but decent with it closed), I brought some earplugs, they're your friends.

Very friendly and professional staff. The entire hotel and rooms are kept very clean and tidy. The location is really convenient, with easy walking distance to town center, bus and train stations. There is a great cafe with very friendly staff around the corner in the same structure, as well as a small grocery store and gas station/convenience store in the same lot.
My only complaint, as with most hotels I've used recently is the beds are much too soft these days, like an overstuffed giant pillow. Not comfortable and bad for my back. This seems to be an annoying trend and not specific to McDreams, so despite this one issue I would absolutely use McDreams hotel again if I revisit the city.

I come to this hotel for business often. The guy at the front office Kai junkers really does go above and beyond to ensure his guests safety, and comfort. He does an exceptional job. I will be back. Love this hotel and the front office staff Kai junkers

Stayed here for one night, and that was long enough. The room was clean and tidy, but very small. The check in process was cumbersome having to complete it on line first. Car parking is shared with shopping centre and garage. Although had a pass from the hotel, still ended up with ticket.

Very easy and top organized - everything online or digital! Good price incl. parking place! perfect if you just want to sleep in the night and are on tour during the day. Petrol station and grocery with baker shop is around the house!

Clean modern hotel. Check in with a code wich you recieve with your booking. The room is not big but will do if you're passing through. You recieve a tablet in the room, wich you can use for more information. There is no airconditioning or climate controle. When we stayed there it was very hot inside the room. You can open a window but then you will hear a lot of outside noise. That's te reason we didn't sleep so well.

Stayed here last week and had a torrid time. When we checked in we were told that the front desk closed at 2000hrs then they explained the entry to our room. Wow. I knew straight away we wouldn't be able to work it after a beer or 2 and I was correct. Had to wait on another guest letting us in and the only reason they knew how was they had spent the night before sleeping in the hallway. Then there was the curtains. In the pictures of the hotel it is like an orange flag at either side of the window well these are your curtains. And they do not cover the window as soon as it becomes light you are awake. Terrible.

For our guests this locking system offers a number of benefits, including flexible online check-in. Just like checking in for a flight prior to arrival at the airport, our online check-in allows you to check in to your room before arriving at the hotel. Unfortunately, after the lovely german beers, you did not recognize that we also provide shutters in our rooms. So there is no need to use flags as curtains. :) We are sure, that you had a very good sleep... The hotel is well located for an access by car. For parking recall a host card from the hotel, otherwise you can receive a fine. No breakfast in the hotel. Instead there is a café close by. Room is pretty ok.

Upon arrival a nasty surprise: the receptionist tells me I should have pre-announced my dog because there were no more basic 'dog rooms'. She proposed to give me a 'business' room, which costs more than EUR 30 extra. I refused and she then tells me there is a 'dog room', such that there is no surcharge. I told her that this is the very first time in dozens of hotel stays with dog that I am being told to pre-announce the dog. She tells me it is advertised 'everywhere'. I checked my reservations website on the spot, which does not mention anything about pre-announcing. Also checking the mcdreamshotels.de website does not mention anything about pre-announcing dogs. She tells me it is because there are so many people with allergies. Well, I thought that this is what I pay the EUR 10 dog charge for: cleaning.Otherwise the room was clean, comfortable.

The room was clean and well appointed despite being on the small side. The beds were really comfortable which was nice. The staff were helpful in checking us in over the phone for a late arrival.
Unfortunately the room was absolutely boiling hot and we had to have the window open, which meant listening to the boy racers in the car park all night.
In the morning a cleaner walked into our room unannounced even though it was well before check out time, disturbing me and my wife in bed. The cleaner then proceeded to knock on the door a few times afterwards which meant any more sleep was impossible.

Yes it is off road, and you need a permit, shared with other shops Netto supermarket and gym. Left a rather pricey Range Rover overnight and it was fine.
There are more places to choose from in the Mönchengladbach area.
