We had a wonderful time at Casa Mia. The penthouse on the roof is ideal for relaxing. You have the best 360 degree view of the sea and the jungle. There is always a fresh breeze, the apartment is large and tastefully furnished. It has its own kitchen, ideal for making something to eat in between meals. In the evening you can watch the sunset over the lagoon on one of the terraces and in the morning you can see the dolphins as you look out to sea with your first coffee. When you come back from a walk on the beach or kitesurfing, you can also spend time on the other terraces or in the garden.
The staff are super friendly and always help if you have any questions.
We will definitely come back.

Small but nice hotel just a few meters from the dream beach. Decorated with love in both the rooms and the garden with very beautiful plants, bushes and palm trees.
On each level there are great chill areas equipped with hammocks and comfortable loungers. The kitchen, where the delicious breakfast (included in the price) is prepared, is available to all guests. Here you can store your drinks in the fridge or cook for yourself if you don't want to go to one of the restaurants. The stretch of beach is amazing. Kilometers long and the peace and quiet is simply fascinating. As a kite surfer I got my money's worth here. In 1 week I went out on the water on 5 days with 10 meter and 13.5 meter kites. The hotel also has its own kite school with the latest slingshot equipment. For non-kiters there are small folding loungers available which you can then use to chill on the beach.
We had a great week and would like to thank our nice hosts Marco and Joaquín!

Casa mia, as its name says, we feel at home. Marco and Joaquin treated us like kings. Always very attentive to comply with what we needed. They helped us make reservations and recommendations for places to eat and they were all spectacular. The breakfasts were very rich, the girls who worked in the kitchen were always very friendly.
My children took kite classes with Nico, Memo and Gus and they were happy but Nico was the one they interacted with the most and loved their classes, he is a great guy.
The hotel is very comfortable and clean, very close to the beach, it has a shaded area and you can use the beach chairs that they have for you. The views from the pent house are very beautiful and having your coffee in the morning watching the sea, with the breeze in the hammock is priceless.
One night they prepared everything for us to make a bonfire with the children, they bought us what we needed to have a very fun night of sausages, marshmallows and scary stories.
The cats that live at Casa Mia are very affectionate but Bandida was my reading companion every morning.
We spent 5 days very happy.

Perfect place to stay if you are a kite surfer, like the company of fellow travelers, and care about sustainability. Hugely positive vibe is set by the owner Marco. Breakfast time was an extended affair, and a wonderful social opportunity. Just be sure you don’t have an excursion or activity at a particular time to get to. We especially enjoyed the use of the stand up paddle boards, slack line, beach chairs, easy access to fresh coconuts, and drinking water cooler. One thing you might want to bring is an eye mask for darker sleeping conditions. The suite would have been the best room for us. We were in the double room with balcony, and it was a little warm for us at times (and we had brought n extra mini-fan). 2 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend Massage directly across the street. Great options for eating: Zapote, Naia, Downwind Deck and Mimisiku. Great yoga class/steam ceremony 3 days a week at Xtaamba (ask at Anahata cafe for details and to register)
Exchange dollars before you get to town for a much better rate. Can use US dollars most places for an OK rate. Credit cards accepted at some restaurants, but some of them also charge an extra commission at a pretty high rate.

We spent 3 nights here and had an amazing stay. A beautiful, clean room and nicely decorated. There is a lounges area with a shared kitchen and great music. Very relaxed atmosphere. The owner makes sure that as little waste as possible is produced offering free water refills etc. owners are friendly and caring people.
The beach right across the road (small dirt road, no traffic) is amazing. If you have a lot of luggage we recommend booking the suite.

I loved my stay at El Cuyo! The house is super clean and has a stylish design and decoration. There is access to a large fridge, kitchen and filtered water all day. The view from the two top decks is absolutely stunning and it is basically right on the beach. And they have hot showers ;)

The owner and staff were super helpful too for everything we needed.

I would definitely recommend!

We researched many accommodations in El Cuyo before finally choosing Casa Mia. So glad we did! This was the perfect place for our first trip to this beautiful town. It was very close to the beach (we wanted to kitesurf as much as possible), the staff were all very kind and helpful to answer questions, recommend restaurants, etc., and the overall vibe of the place was a good fit for us.

If you are planning your first trip to El Cuyo, it may be helpful to know that Casa Mia is a 15-20 minute walk from the center of town. Fortunately, we received many recommendations for transportation, dining, and activities. If you have any questions, you can always ask the folks at Casa Mia they will help you out.

The building itself has been beautifully crafted, and the decor is uniquely creative and artistic throughout. We were sad when we had to leave but hope that we will visit again soon.

Many thanks to Marco, Rolando, and all the staff at Casa Mia for taking good care of us and treating us like family!!

Stunning views, beautifully decorated - a hop, skip and a jump from the beach. Pets are welcome. The owner, Jaquin, and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was delicious… made fresh, right in front of us in the communal kitchen. El Cuyo is a beautiful, peaceful place.. and Casa Mía was the perfect choice for a romantic getaway. The only bad part was that we had to leave. We will definitely be back. Thank you for existing.

Casa mia was not only a place to stay but also a lovely experience! We felt like part of a small family there. They have a kite school for those in interest. The area is beautifully designed, even the smallest room what we had was absolutely wonderful with a great view and very clean. A small but delightful breakfast consisting in fruit, fresh fruit juices and coffee is included for every guest, the beach is a few minutes away which btw if you are not up for a wavy sea than maybe is el cuyo not the place for you but rather kite-surfers. All together it was a great experience, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend it!

We stayed 2 nights at Casa Mia but we will definitely come back for longer. It is a heavenly place with the beach nearby and excellent restaurants recommended by our host very close by. The welcome from Casa Mia was very warm without being intrusive. Nothing is missing for comfort (very comfortable beds) and the decoration is very pleasant. The setting is splendid and calm. At Casa Mia you feel very comfortable and at home.
El Cuyo is a very friendly, quiet village far from the hustle and bustle and mass tourism. We recommend this stopover with your eyes closed.
Thank you again for our welcome.
Kisses
Virginie and Christian
