After it came to the rescue last year when the Duss Airport security control staff were playing silly buggers and disrupting your ability to catch flights we were back in again last week, but this time for a more lengthy experience when my company chose the hotel and its conference facilities for a company meeting. This time I had a...

The Mutterhaus is located in a large park, within 5 minutes walking from the trams that quickly and comfortably bring you to Dusseldorf. We stayed here for a visit to the Messe and the tram connections are quick, cheap and comfortable. There are plenty small restaurants withing walking distance. Limited parkingspace is available, not sure whether there was a larger...

This is a well renovated building redesigned as a conference venue / hotel. We took the hotel option. The guys at the reception are very kind and helpful (actually exceeding my experiences with hotels elsewhere in europe). The room we had is very large and comfortable with 2 club chairs. Bathroom is fine but the shower has a soft curtain...

Wow, talk about your awesomely historic buildings, Mutterhaus takes the prize. "Imposing" was one word that leapt to mind as we pulled onto the cobblestone drive leading up to the hotel. Built in 1903 as a deaconry for women going into the church, the building was constructed in the neo-Gothic style. Again, massive and stately. Think Adams Family on steroids....

It is located close enough to the airport, yet far enough to give you rest. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are wonderful and the breakfast well worth it. The price is below the value you receive. It would be a wonderful place for a wedding or even a company off-site meeting. The grounds are nice to walk. In the...

I prefer to stay in hotels that are not cookie cutter and love when they have a backstory! Hotel Mutterhaus fit the bill! Beautiful building on the outside - on the inside it looks just like the austere convent it was! The rooms are furnished very basic, but comfortable with everything you might need - including a safe bolted into...

This one confused me although to be fair I did arrive late. The room was very clean but I had a small single bed which was not what I would like as a business traveller. Breakfast was acceptable but no one came to provide me coffee, a small thing I know but everything counts. The actua buildings are very interesting...

As you go up the drive you certainly get the feeling that this place is special! Wonderful architecture, so in keeping with its surroundings. We were here for two nights to attend a wedding reception held in the hotel and for this we couldn't have asked for anything more. We had an excellent view from our room (208) down the...

We utilised Das Mutterhaus for an overnight stay last week when the Dusseldorf airport Security staff strike made us delay our flight plans and have to find at short notice a low cost hotel close to the airport. A colleague who lives locally recommended this one. I believe it primarily functions as a conference venue but for a bed for...

The hotel is run as a hotel and conference centre in a historic building that used to be a convent. Its in a nice village just outside of Dusseldorf. Its close to the airport (EUR 15 taxi) but very quiet. The hotel is well run and well equiped and furnishe dwith period furniture. Some have said its spartan but I...
