Small shortcoming are missing air conditioning in the rooms.
We will gladly return here.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and offers a great breakfast. The staff is so nice and helpful! We hit a couple of unexpectedly hot days and though the area is not usually this hot, the reception was equipped with cooled towels when we came in from the sun.
Düsseldorf offers a great variety of areas. The area around the hotel is beautiful and there are several restaurants and cafes within close walking distance - and you are just some meters from the Rhine.
We were very happy to stay here!
I booked by phone and was treated as if I were the traditional regular guest who stays here every trade fair. The email confirmation arrived in no time. Check-in yesterday was just as friendly. A beautiful room of sufficient size, a practical, neat wet area and a rich breakfast were waiting for me - wonderful. The contact with the various employees was always characterized by great friendliness, as well as customer and service orientation; unfortunately, this is no longer a given in international hotels!
I would be only too happy to book this beautiful hotel again and I should actually be careful about recommending it, because if the hotel becomes even more well-known and frequented, it could become difficult for me to find a room there and I would have to book one of the uniform hotels again...
Markus Jessberger, Nuremberg
Located in 5 minutes (walk)
Distance from Altstadt/Kö Allee and other sights, yet very quiet and autonomous.
.You can only recommend it.
The rooms are very nice and everything is super clean.
Great, friendly service and a very impressive breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired!
I would love to come back!
Thank you very much!
The facilities are good.
The breakfast also good & the service during breakfast time’s superb.
Having the best experience stay in that hotel.
Will come back for sure whenever I visit Dusseldorf.
This hotel is highly recommended.
I was sitting on the hotel's couch to search for an accommodation for that evening on my phone( I wanted to have a peaceful rest after the midnight fireworks on Japan Day), and was repeatedly pestered by the receptionist that the area is for guests only. However, after informing him about my current search, I was told to do this outside of the hotel. I was completely flabbergasted by his demeanor and politely asked "Wie heißen Sie?" (What is your name, in German), to which the receptionist immediately threatened to call the police to escort me out. When I insisted that I would like to know his name first before leaving, he immediately picked up the phone and (most likely faked this as well) "requested" the police to come to the parameter to settle the situation. I then asked to know who his manager was, but the receptionist continued to ignore my request. I even dialed the hotel's contact number from its website, hoping that another staff member would be able to process my formal complaint; unfortunately, only this receptionist's phone rang.
I have stayed at a dozen of 4 to 5 star hotels in America, Brussels, Vietnam, etc. for vacation, and a hotel in Wiesbaden for business, and the receptionists there have always represented the service reputation of those hotels. They dressed in uniforms and greeted people (not just guests!) in a warm, welcoming tone, whereas none of which happened at Hotel Orangerie. It is such a shame, since this type of service could really drive potential customers away from experiencing the great facilities at the hotel.
I would kindly request the receptionist standard to be reexamined, from the uniform to the behavior towards people. Furthermore, the employees should wear name tags to hold accountable for their actions, should someone like to file a formal complaint.
