From my experience, it was quite quiet in this neighbourhood. No bad traffic even. Only few parking spots. Somehow I didn't see this as real city centre. (no shopping street/malls but just normal shops and a lot of hotels closeby though.)
By (our) walking distance, we could get to the real city centre and the lovely Rhine river.
