Detailed Reviews
Leonardo Royal in Dusseldorf is great to explore the city. The hotel has access to a variety of metro stations within 5 minute walk distance. The hotel is located close to Konigsalle and other parts of the city with great restaurants and bars. The room was comfortable, with a good bed and clean bathroom. Housekeeping througout the stay was great and wifi was consistent. Sleep quality was great, my room was facing a residential area so road and traffic noise was minimal. Hotel staff at checkin and throughout the stay were helpful.

We spent 5 nights here after weeks of trying to find the "Perfect Hotel". The Hotel isnt Perfect, but it is pretty good. The Location is the major plus point!!
Next to the hotel is a lovely park that feels like a world away from a city. Across the road from the Hotel is the Konigsalle which is a VERY pretty street with a small canal running through it. A two minute walk has you at the riverfront with cracking views and 5 minutes has you at the TV Tower. Perfect for exploring the major sights. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the main train station and as it is flat, it's relitevely straight forward.
Our room (535) looked out over a small park and large glass office complex accross the street. Every morning we sat at our large windows (which opened right up), had a bite to eat and watched/listened to the Parakeets(!!) as they made their way from tree to tree - fantastic.
The room was clean and although we didnt recieve the complimentary water (4 star and advertised) the coffee pods were welcomed! There was a safe, hair dryer, Nespreso machine, large TV and plenty room. The bathroom was spacious with a deep overshower bath.
The Lobby/Reception area is very modern and the glass lifts are a cool feature. Check in and check out was very simple.
Covid19 - face coverings in common areas and hand sanitiser provided at the entrance. Staff were compliant also. We felt very safe and comfertable.
Very enjoyable stay. Not quite a 4 Star but close enough. Would stay again.

First of all, I have to say it was one of the most difficult reviews I have ever written. Because the staff was obliging and friendly in any way, but the room was worn and partly dirty what, in my opinion, must not be in a four star rated hotel.
But step by step. The hotel is located close to the southern end of the famous Königsallee, the most expensive and luxurious street for shopping in the city. So it is really central and suited for a trip to shop and sightseeing.
The breakfast is befitting a hotel of the four star categories rank.
The room was very disappointing. The bed sheet had a big crack, the bathroom was dirty in a way that should not be with a hotel group like Leonardo, the tap of the bathtub was green on the fringes, the tiles on the wall of the bathtub were dirty, the basket were you can put your items while having a shower was was crooked, you did not get new, clean bed linen and what was really difficult for us, you had to sleep with a blanket made for cold winter days when having 35° C (95° F) outside.
When complaining at the staff the did the best to compensate for our inconvenience and offers to change the room - so many thanks to the staff I was really appreciated of their professionalism, but instead of that you can imagine that in from my point of view such things should not happen in a Leonardo hotel.
To come to the summary of my review I have to say the location is brilliant, the staff is too, but the room was not (which does not mean, every room is like ours).

The hotel is a bit oldish style, the corridors look and feel like an old cruising ship inside. The bathroom is very tiny sized, but fulfills the demands. The room itself was great, pillows, bed and environment was above expectation. I missed a bit the restaurant, at 20:00 there was no food served, only a bar available. Since the hotel is located pretty well, it's not an issu to reach any good places around within 10-15 min walk you can get into the downtown too...

I stayed at this hotel for two days when visiting Düsseldorf with my family.
The hotel is well located, at the end of Königsallee, the city’s main shopping street. A subway station is located just across the street. There are also a couple of restaurants across the street and two supermarkets behind the hotel.
We stayed in a twin room on the top floor which was clean and reasonable in terms of size. The sink was broken but water didn’t leak. The breakfast buffet has few options for a 4-star hotel, there is hardly any fruit and milk alternatives are not available in the buffet, you need to order.
Be very careful with charges to your credit cards. The hotel blocked 350 euros on my credit card upon arrival and this amount was not released when I paid for my stay. It’s been a month that I stayed at this hotel and they are still withholding the amount.

You are greeted at 6 p.m. with annoying jazz music blaring from three video screens.
Rooms with carpeted floors and bathtubs are completely out of fashion and I find the carpet disgusting.
The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired, but at €25 it is far too expensive. It is not possible to park in the two parking garages with normal SUVs, even if you find a space with a GLC, you cannot get out because you cannot open the door. Parking in one of the neighboring parking garages is highly recommended.

We stayed here for 2 days while visiting a family member. We had a mixed experience.
The hotel is located in the centre of Dussledorf, and while reasonably clean, is looking a bit tired, could do with a freshen up.
Staff were excellent - very friendly, helpful and approachable.
We were disappointed to find on arrival that the restaurant wasn't open - they cited 'Covid' as the reason, but we found that silly, as they serve Breakfast in the restaurant. Furthermore, they were serving Bar Food. Worked out for us though, as we found a lovely restaurant nearby.
Breakfast was very nice, lots of choice, and they came to ask if we were finished before they cleared away at the end of breakfast time.
The barman was quite a character, friendly, pleasant and engaging.
The rooms could do with a 'freshen up', but quite functional. I put a used towel in the bath as I wanted a fresh one (I spilled lotion on this one) and the cleaner just hung it up for me to use again.
Only other thing we weren't happy with was Parking. We couldn't get in as it was full, we had to park offsite - not ideal when carrying luggage.
Overall, it was just ok. expensive for what is was & drinks were expensive as well.

We stayed at this hotel with our 3 children recently. Hotel is very well situated close to Königsallee. Rooms are well appointed but bathrooms are tiny!! Towels were thin and there was nothing in bathrooms only large stationary bottles of soap/shampoo. No slippers, no dressing gowns etc. However beds and duvets were very comfortable. Rooms were cosy and temperature could be well regulated. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very nice on reception, breakfast room and bar. Bar was very nice in the evenings for a drink before bedtime. The hotel is expensive and could do better with bathroom products but overall a nice stay for Christmas market visit.

Absolutely not worth the money, overpriced. Don’t stay if the weather is warm because the air conditioning is non-existent and not in just one room but three rooms. The staffs solution is “just open up,the windows at night to let it cool down”. Not comfortable at all and service is extremely poor.

Outstanding experience staying with leonardo royal hotel in Düsseldorf city centre.
Only minor gripes were tight garage 1 entrance ramp (to be expected in city centre) and the crossed wires re provision of packed lunch.
They have thought of everything even down to automatic door at the KG garage level when you have heavy luggage trolley to navigate with.

It's about 15 minutes depending on traffic. If you have an evening flight I would suggest you leave enough time as traffic out of Düsseldorf is heavy from 5.00pm . Cost is about €20 by taxi, one way. But it's quick and easy. Taxis are always available outside of the hotel .
yes it does
Yes they do, overpriced, limited choice
