Lovely cosy hotel that had a homely hostel feel. Own key to let yourself in but staff available on desk/via telephone if needed. Lovely breakfast and great location. Beds were comforty, tv and fan provided. A real little gem would return if in the area again.

Great start to holiday. Hotel had a family-run atmosphere to it, old fashioned but well run. We had an unexpected delay in arriving, gave them a call to say we'd miss check-in time and they sorted us out with no problems. Breakfast great value, even for a vegetarian who won't eat all the cold meats available. Needed to print out... More

Right smack bang in the middle of town. 10 mins walk from everything. Great location. Clean, bright, welcoming. Not modern but has homely style by Claus. What do you do in hotels only look for location and a bed. This has it all. Reasonable good spread for breakfast. Definitely be back. Thanks for your hospitality.

Considering it's VERY convenient central location; a clean and comfortably-appointed room; the really decent Deutsche Frühstück AND hospitable staff --- COUPLED WITH the budget-oriented room cost ---- I'd say the Heinzelmännchen should be among the top choices for a frugal visitor to the majestic "Domstadt on the Rhine". A worthy mention; For 2+ persons in a private room, this place... More

Loved this place. Well priced and fairly close to the centre (10min walk). The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite comfortable. Only bad point is there is no lift (ie, difficult for the elderly), but no problem for us. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is family run and definitely add their touch to it. Bathrooms are small and the beds seem like the mattresses are as old as the hotel itself, not a really comfortable sleep. Also the decor is just odd, it wasn't to my liking. The location is good as a short walk and you will find the subway and... More

Well, the hotel is, in my reckoning, not that bad as the previous reviews seem to portray it. It is fully functional family-run establishment. Rooms are of a decent size with high ceilings and warm in cold weather. The bathroom is tiny indeed and has an unfortunate layout. They do not have real double beds, just two single ones pushed... Hi, Heinzelmännchen is centrally located and serves a decent German breakfast. I have stayed a few times in the past 2 years or so and liked the place. It is not great but serves it's purpose if you are after a reasonably priced accommodation in down town Cologne and appreciate curtains and bed linen in bright colors and a flowery... More
