Due to my own incompetence I booked the wrong night at another hotel nearby and so was stranded in cologne. As luck would have it there was a room available so I took it. The staff were very friendly and for the price the room was fantastic. Very clean and stylishly decorated. The hotel is a short walk from the...

Our room was lovely, small but clean and large bathroom with rain shower. The owner is accommodating and friendly as you'd expect or he's really made a few errors in his career path. Breakfast is one of the best continentals available for this type of hotel. Lots of options and very fresh ingredients and good strong coffee. So why only...

Close to town centre (500 m), very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, room was tidy and spicy with an additional sitting area (rm 301) - parking in the near vicinity is expensive although there are parking places at walking distances near the Rhine river at 4 EUR a day.

Absolutely recommended this family-run hotel for its location close to the central station / Dom / Rhein... And for it making you feel right at home! Wonderful breakfast in the morning rounds it all up. Special thanks to the owner who was nice enough to let us change dates last minute although our booking policy did not include this option!

The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the central station and the Kölner Dom, main attraction of the city. Also the Rhein river is just around the corner. The hotel is small and clean, spatious room (nr 30) or "flat" with 2 rooms. Everything worked well and the free internet was fast and efficient. Breakfast was very...

OK Let's start with an honest review of the hotel itself, which if you are travelling by train/bus/plane/taxi. This is a small "boutique" type hotel which has been done out in the austere/minimalist rather than the - say- quirky style popular in some of these. To this extent is it very "sharp" white and clean and tidy. The room furniture...

The hotel is a nice little place just 5 minute walk away from Cologne central station. It's in a calm street and the rhine is about 50m away. The rooms are spacious and tidy, with nice oldfashioned furniture. They have free wifi and a very good breakfast with a great variety of food. So why not 5 stars ? Because...

It's a quaint hotel on a quiet side street of downtown Cologne. It's close enough to the train station to walk, but it's far enough where you don't hear trains all the time. It was kind of confusing to find at first. The staff is friendly and everything was clean. It does have a small elevator and the room was...

if you look at the photos on their website, you see larger airy rooms that could perhaps be characterized as "boutique". the room i received was miniature. tiny night stand. tiny television. tiny bath. tiny bed. tiny 1-person elevator, tiny hallway. (but big gigantic skeleton key for the room!). its close to the main station. but there are hotels closer...

We stayed only one night, but the atmosphere of the whole hotel, the hospitality of the owner and the hygiene were really great. Also the room was very nice, big and cosy. The breakfast was also really great. The location is on walking distance to the main attractions. So the next time we visit Cologne, we are going to visit...

A Hearty Welcome to the Buchholz Downtown Hotel Hotel Buchholz with its attractive Victorian facade is one of Cologne's most charming "town house" hotels in the Kunibertsviertel. The hotel provides a quiet retreat away from the urban rush, situated in a small street just minutes from the city centre and a short walk from the River Rhine. The Buchholz family run and manage this affordable accommodation, and together with their friendly and courteous English - speaking staff ensure a hearty and warm welcome is given to all guests on their arrival. Whether your visit to Cologne is for business or pleasure, our central but quiet location is an excellent base for visiting the exhibition halls, various museums, our famous cathedral and other places of interest. Just a short walk from the hotel along the River Rhine embankment is "Old Cologne" with its many bars and restaurants.
