Because of regular business Trips to Bielfeld, I have stayed in Hotel Büscher on a regular basis. I selected this hotel because of the good restaurant. On my first stay there, there was an important soccer game and the people in the room next to me were watching it and cheering loudly. The hotel kindly upgraded me into another room at no cost and appologized profusely. Apart from this incidence, I have found the hotel to be quiet and clean. The rooms on the ground floor in the new part of the building are larger and more modern, but the rooms in the other part of the building have a somewhat lower price. The restaurant is visited by local Rotary and Dinners clubs and I like the good food, which is fresh and most of it locally produced. The kitchen chefs (owner and his son) are very creativ in the presentation of the food, especially the desserts. During the summer months, you can eat freshly grilled spare ribs, or steak in the garden of the hotel every Thursday (and Friday I think). The meat on the menue is from local butchers and well ripened. Breakfast is ok, with lots of choices. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We were visiting family for three nights nearby and selected this hotel as it was only ten mins walk from their house in Quelle. We had concerns after reading some reviews. We checked in late on Saturday evening and the process was smooth and efficient. We were told that as the restaurant was closed on Sunday breakfast would be brought to the door the following morning. The room was brightly lit and very clean and fresh with two single beds, adequate shower plenty of hot water and toilet, flat screen TV, but all channels are in German. We found the beds very comfortable and there was no noise so we always had a good nights sleep. On the first morning there was a knock at the door at 6:30 am and the breakfast trolley was there complete with tea/coffee machine, and a full continental breakfast. The following mornings we had breakfast in the dining room which was continental style but more than adequate. For anyone wishing to stay in this area for a short visit I would recommend this hotel. We did not use the restaurant in the evenings but understand it is popular with the locals. The staff were friendly LSO.

Clean rooms, warm welcome, good breakfast. Very quiet hotel with comfy beds. Good value for money. I would definitely stay again if in Bielefeld. No secure parking for motorcycles however the hotel carpark is accommodating and I can't imagine there's a security issue in Bielefeld, it's just too quiet and neighbourly an area. Service was polite and efficient.

Stayed here recently on business. Upon my arrival I was greeted in a friendly manner. I was keen to do some work so I sat in the bar downstairs and used their free wifi access. The bar was traditionally decorated and it was comfortable working their especially as the gentleman brought me some herbal tea. For evening meal I ordered some local red wine recommended by the owner and then a small schnitzel- this was accompanied by a creamy mushroom sauce and a tasty side salad. I really enjoyed the meal and I also received a complementary starter of pate, bread and a tiny soup. These were equally delicious. In the evening the bar filled up with other lone travellers and some locals who were enjoying the beer and tasty cuisine. I slept well and, although my room was quite small, this was ok as it very cold outside and it was quite cosy. Breakfast the next day was very comfortable-I enjoyed it immensely, especially the wide selection of herbal teas.

Although the hotel was well established and small, it was out of the way in a residential suburb and very very quiet. The room was okay but could have been better if tea and coffee making faclilites and been provided. It was very dour and Westfalian in an old fashioned way - not to everyones's taste. The main problem was the attitude and lack of friendliness from theowner and his wife, who were unfirendly to the point of rudeness - there was absolutely no attempt by them to make us feel welcome and despite the fact one of us spoke reasonable coversational german, they just ignored us even when in the same room. Sitting in the bar at night was like being on the Marie Celeste! The only saving graces were that the food was okay and there was a nice lady at breakfast time who at least attempted to chat to us. It seemed to us that what guests there were were probalby local business type folk, there for a night or so. Definaiely not for anyone looking for a relaxed friendly stay, especially if you were from abroad!
