I love places like the Hotel Rossija, that offer no frills, clean, basic accommodation at an affordable price to travellers. I have stayed here three times now, twice with friends and once with my elderly mother. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. Yes, there is a certain 'Russian' flavour to the staff and customer service, but you get used to... More

Booked this as it was £150 a night but £150 a night cheaper than many other places. (Day before trade part of the Frankfurt Motor Show.) It was very clean - you would not want to be there in the heat - no aircon or ventilation. I checked the price at another time - say November - was £31 a... More

If you value your safety, do not ever stay in this hotel. Our sightseeing consisted of seeing drug users shoot up on the sidewalks, the "locals" we're mainly strippers, prostitutes & pimps, and if you want anything to eat after 11pm you better like McDonalds. The hotel room was hot, cooled only by a broken fan or opening the window... More

Had a bad experience with the workers here after leaving a passport, sunglasses, and money accidentally. Rang them up and they were very unhelpful, refused to send my passport to the next hostel I was in in Munich and repeatedly hung up on me on the phone. Had to sort my own courier service out to pick my items up.... More

The hotel was fine. Clean rooms, pleasant staff and okay breakfast. The outside was odd, its situated behind the street in a central courtyard and you have to buzz through to reception to open the door. The area is very dodgy and seedy. It was fine for us but I would think twice if you are a single or group of... More

Our check in was met by rude and unhelpful staff, actually they were terriblle. We were ignored to the point that it was uncomfortable. There was a noisey background in the hotel. The neighborhood is not great. in general, Everything was just BAD.

When you forget about the surroundings (at night) it is a great place to stay for the right money. The service is very good (multi-lingual), helpful and the breakfasts are surprisingly good value. It is clean, safe and while the wi-fi is not free, for the price it is worth it. For a 1 night stopover, it is great. Central... More

I first visited the Rossija in 2008 and I'm delighted to see it's still going. Plus, I think it has had a bit of a face-lift. Still FANTASTIC budget value about three minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Large bedrooms, clean bathrooms with loads of hot water, flat screen TVs with cable TV, lovely breakfast (cereals, tea/coffee, juices, yogurts, crispy bread... More

This is a strange hotel. It looks like a prison from the outside and the reception area is not very welcoming. Parking is very tight for space. The receptionist on duty was not very welcoming or friendly. There is a lift but a view of walls and buildings from the room. There was a funny little hall and a reasonably... More

They refused the deposit I had made on Hostels.com, even though I took out my computer and showed them the letter from Hostels.com saying it was a deposit and stipulating the amount. In addition the room smelled of smoke & was so noisy I could hardly sleep.
