A charming place. Almost perfect. Traffic noise, though, when you keep the windows open at night. And it's not located downtown. However, the neighborhood is nice. The rooms are small, the price is elevated (also for the breakfast - 12.50), but that's Hamburg, I guess. I'd recommend Das kleine Schwarze, nevertheless for all who love to avoid the "ever the... Spend 2 nights here. Modern decorations but with extremely unfriendly owner, too high handed and arrogant. With the price we paid I think we can get much better serivce elsewhere. I will not recommend to stay here!

Spent four nights here in October 2012 on my first visit to Hamburg. I was at first unsure whether the location would be a little out of the way but was proven wrong thanks to the city's fantastic U-Bahn network and the convenient location of the B&B - just a 5 minute walk to the nearest stop. Journey time into... More

Stayed at DKS in October 2012 for a long weekend visiting friends in Hamburg. The location of the B&B is in a great location, in the suburban Eimsbüttel area, which is both residential and quiet: A complete difference to the popular St Pauli, Sternschanze and town centre areas which offer a host of places to stay. The B&B is a... More

Stayed four nights in November 2011 as part of a nostalgic return to a city where I spent some of my childhood. Very conveniently located in a quiet residential area, only 10-15 minutes from the city centre by U-Bahn, with plenty of good restaurants close by. The house is beautifully and imaginatively decorated – Ralph Merz is a photographer, and... More

This is a lovely B&B that I am so glad we discovered! Beautifully decorated having an air of the 50's, in a minimal photographic style, confortable bed and linen, well done shower-room and the best of all, the calming view to the B&B's garden when having breakfast. You just don't want to leave! You can read your book there for... More
