Cold and damp room with mold and bad air. Got ill from staying here. No cleaning the days we had the room. After 2 nights we realized that it was the air in the room that made us feel terrible in the morning. When we reported this, we were offered another room, but the trip was kind of ruined, so...

I think the thing I liked most about this hotel was just how large the room was. There was so much space that it felt really relaxing and it was easy to move around in. The bathroom, however private, was external to our room and we had to go down a small hallway to get to it. This was probably...

Very nice and cheap hotel in the nord of Berlin. Very easyly reachable from Tegel Airport with S41 and S42. Also fast metro U2 to major locations in town centre. Both only a few 100 m from hotel. The hotel is very quiet because the rooms are not on the road side. Breakfast is outstanding. Many restaurants and bars in...

Location in the heart of buzzing Prenzlauerberg is just fine. The staff however was not very helpful and sometimes even rude. I was yelled at by the waiter at breakfast for asking whether I could already help myself to the buffet at 7:55 instead of 8 (official starting time of breakfast, rather late for those coming to Berlin to work)....

We arrived to the hotel by car and parking seemed to be impossible to organise for the staff. We had to go to a nearby auto center to pick up a sticker in order to be able to park outside the hotel. Fair enough, but it took for ages for the receptionist to explain the procedure with his poor English....

A nice, clean and affordable hotel. Good located, in a nice area and close to U-/S-Bahn. The hotel is in a backyard so it's calm and quiet in the night, even though it's a cinema, restaurants and bars along the street. We had a room with plenty of space, simple decorated but with charm. The breakfast is really good.

Rooms may be small (depends on which one you get) but clean and service was friendly. Bathroom was small and a bit aged but everything worked. The reception is in a cafe / bar (GLBT friendly), which is open until late night. The rooms are in the adjacent building. Breakfast is served in the cafe. The Hotel is situated in...

This hotel is close to the subway, easy to get to. The rooms is a little on the small side. If you have a lot of luggage then it might be a problem. The restaurant next door is very convenient but there is also other places to eat on the street. The room were clean and maintained. Will recomment this...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
