This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel. It is small, with no special features but great value if you don't need luxuries. There is no lift so if you are unlucky enough to have a room on a higher floor, there can be a few flights of stairs to climb. No problem if you only have...

The only good thing about the hotel is it's location, there are train and busses stations very close to it. Otherwise, I didn't enjoy my visit at all. First of all, there was no elevator, and my room was on the 3rd floor, I had to climb with my large suitcase. Second of all, they don't have any kind of...

the room was clean and breakfast was good and it's kind of like people stayed home. Hotel staff were nice Good access to public transport, good restaurants around the hotel The only problem was the staff that there was not more to 8 pm Since the first day we arrived at 8:10 there was no one there and it took...

This small hotel is located in second backyard at Bornholmer Strasse, with very good public transportation options, both U-bahn (6 min) and M1 around the corner directly to Hackescher Markt. The rooms are very clean and neat. The breakfast is ok, but not impressive. Got handed a key so I could lock myself in, as the reception closes very early....

The double room we had was a bit small, but very clean with a comfy bed and a little bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel has a central location, but can be a bit hard to find. It's situated in a backyard, so noise was not a problem at night. Breakfast was surprisingly good, with eggs, fresh fruit,...

This is just a nice cheap hotel tucked away at an inner courtyard In Prenslauerberg In a period building. Rooms are modern though with nice bathrooms en suite, great breakfast room. Just what one wants. I paid 40€ without breakfast. Around the corner are lots of ships and restaurants. 10 minutes walk from S and U station Schonhauser Allee. Definitedly...

First, it's a bit confusing how this became my hotel. I had booked a room from Hotel 103 across the street, and for some reason it turned out being over-booked and they led us here. Same price applied, although the hotel was - I think - much worse. First thing I realized was they don't approve credit cards. So, cash...

This hotel is a perfect base when you want to explore Berlin. Although parking place is limited and can not be reserved we had no problems parking our car in the courtyard. We left it there for three days and used the well organised public transportation to visit Berlin. The tram stops almost in front of this cozy hotel, while...

Booked this hotel because I needed to be in the neighborhood, was a great choice, very clean rooms, great breakfast included, with easy access to the metro and tramways taking you everywhere you need to be. Nothing to complain about at all, could even keep the room later than expected. Very friendly personnel too, wifi access, price are excellent.

Nice economical Hotel near the centre of Berlin in a normal neighbourhood with lots of small cheap restaurants. Staff is friendly, helpful and flexible. Cash only. One tip: it costs less to book your room online. One criticism: the pillows are too soft and all polyester. Otherwise ideal. Free internet!

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
