Just back from a 4-night stay at Hommage a Magritte. I'd like to echo the opinions of the previous reviewer who has summed it up perfectly. Location is brilliant, very close to u-bahn and s-Bahn stops. We were 8 in 3 rooms. Rooms are modern and very clean. The only problem was with shower , very modern but less confortable...

How wonderful to arrive and be pressed into settling into our room before going through the usual form-filling formalities. We emerged unpacked and showered a little while later and could then fully appreciate the extremely useful map and transport orientation Merlin provided. If only all hotels did this. But then this is no ordinary hotel. The family members who run...

This is a funky boutique hotel set in the centre of West Berlin so is 20 minutes away from most of the historic sights and monuments you'll want to see. Both rooms we had were well modernised but with no air conditioning and with a very modern shower that is almost impossible not to let splash out into the bathroom...

We had a lovely stay at Hommage a Magritte. It's a really well run family hotel and we appreciated the "personal" email responses from the hosts to all our queries which is a welcome change to automated copy-paste responses. The art in the hotel is really interesting and a nice quirk in our room. The continental breakfasts were delicious. The...

Located between 2 tube stations, Savignyplatz being the closest and the Zoologischer slightly further away. Its location is removed from the main attractions so public transport is a must. A Berlin card or a 72 hour train pass (€32) solves that problem... a degree in tube station map reading or a UK'ite helps with this as does smart phones and...

This is a small family run hotel where you can easily get to public transportation and to the zoo. Rooms are basic but clean and (best of all) silent, the bathrooms very small and something uncomfortable. The breakfast is frugal but OK. The decoration and paintings on display are amazing. I think compared with other hotels and B&Bs in Berlin...

This was our 2nd stay in this great hotel with wonderful people, we had a room with a lovely little balcony overlooking the garden. The art is interesting and rooms big, airy with modern showers. The fan came in very useful as it was very hot. It is in a quiet location but central with good S-Bahn connections.

Visited Hommage a Magritte for one week in September for a conference at TU Berlin. Wonderful location and accommodations. Very comfortable room and tremendously clean. Good breakfast and excellent service. I would definitely come back in the future.

I recently stayed at Hommage a Magritte for 10 days. It is hard to add any more accolades to the ones already showered on this little gem of a place by others. Believe the pictures you see. They put a smile on my face every morning as i was leaving and every evening as I returned. The family that owns...

The hotel is artistically guirky. Very well run , safe and not too far from available transport . Rooms a good size each with a modern bathroom . Nothing is too much for the staff and management . Good wifi , free tea and coffee . Well deserves it ranking. A privilege to stay

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

A serene and small hotel dedicated to the spirit of René Magritte and the poetic aesthetics of surrealism. Family-run, assessable and welcoming. Located in a side street of the well-known Kurfürstendamm, just a few steps away from the legendary Savignyplatz, in a quiet area with many small cafes, art galleries and family-run shops.
