We went with the 'deluxe' version and it totally exceeded my expectations. Roomy, nice little terrace, wooden beams. Walking distance (like 15-20mins) from Museum Island. Few great resturants nearby - White Trash Fast Food (hilarious menu), La ?Cucina - cheap awesome Italian. My sister slept on the fold out bed which she did find a bit uncomfortable and the double...

Apartments were a generous size, however was on 4th floor with no lift. Paid parking via a permit and street parking only. Free internet, breakfast not included but very nice cafe in foyer. Close to transport or a fair (but do-able) walk to main attractions. Berlin is a large city, spread out with a lot to see so some form...

I really liked this place. We got a Senior II apartment for 3 people. The first thing I noticed is the room is huge! It is probably two to three times the size of most hotel rooms. It was big enough that it would be nice if they walled off one side to make it a 1 bedroom instead of...

We stayed here when visiting Berlin for the Christmas markets. It's one stop on the u-Bahn from Alexanderplatz so really easy for transfers from the airport. We stayed in the 2 bedroomed apartment. It was huge- like a big loft. There were 2 double bedrooms and a sofa bed. Free wifi in the rooms as well. The rooms all overlooked...

Stayed in the 'senior suite' which is a studio apartment room with balcony. Quiet, clean, well equipped and perfect for a couple who want to explore Berlin but stay in the more trendy East. Helpful reception will book shuttle or taxis. Would stay again.

Great place to chill out after a long days walking around Berlin before you go out for the night, and after you get back! Spotless, immaculate with everything you need. Two supermarkets across the road from you, five mins from the Ubahn, right in the centre of everything. Staff couldn't be more helpful. The only thing I'd say is watch...

Large and very nice (new) apartment. Helpfull staff. Very clean, but no cleaning during the stay. Affordable prices. Located in former East Berlin just 1 min. walk away from Rosa Luxemburg U-Bahn, 1 stop from Alexanderplatz, view to Fernsehturm and Berliner Dom. Good cafe in the reception with a very large Breakfast Schön Dekadent for 7.5€. Smaller breakfast available for...

We have just returned from Berlin and had a great time. We stayed at the Schoenhouse Apartments after having tried to find a hotel. The apartment was described as a two room apartment but is actually a one-bed ensuite apartment, and had a double room with ensuite bathroom and then there is another toilet and an open kitchen/living area with...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
