A good choice for people who are looking for a nice place to stay, but don't mind that it isn't a social hostel for meeting people. You can get there on the S-bahn, which you can travel on with a rail pass. It's about 8 stops away from the main stations and takes about 15 minutes. Therefore, if you have...

The hostel is a good choice if you are looking for an affordable place in Berlin for a night or two. It's rather close to various concert locations, like Columbiahalle or Tempodrom. It's also not far from Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie. Besides the staff is nice and helpful.

A nice hostel which was reasonably priced. Clean bathroom and bedroom. Me and my four friends enjoyed our stay and appreciated the free breakfast available at the top floor in the morning. The view from there was great, This place was also close to an S-Bahn station. This was really convenient. The kitchen is small and gets crowded but we...

It was nice, clean and cheap. We had a big room with private bathroom. Free beakfast (for people under 27 years old) was a really nice surprise! Only one bad thing that I can say is that the WiFi is not working really well.

Everything was ok. Staff, position, cleaning, not a super breakfast but ok, room. We have had a private room for 2 and the room was a big room for 5. S-ban is really close, 3 minutes walking. I recommend it

We had a room for three people and it was everything we needed for our short but absolutely great stay. Comfortable beds, clean, quiet, close to the U-Bahn - Möckernbrücke - just 3 minutes away. Staff was really helpful and answered all our questions. I would add as an extra advantage having a terrace on the roof. Breakfast was also...

For a short stay (e.g. citytrip) in Berlin this hostel is a good choice. It is near an U-bahn and Checkpoint Charlie (appr. 15 min. walk). The room was nice, clean and affordable. No towels available. The hostel did not organise any activities and had no bar.

I've been staying in this place during Berlin Film Festival and the location is perfect for visiting both central and remote areas of the city. Nice company of the people, good clean room made my stay really smooth even when I catched a cold and had to spend almost the whole day in the room. Would definitely recommend for those...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
