This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in so far. The staff and facilities are excellent while the location is very interesting. The small groups made it very easy to meet other travellers and the one euro trust bucket system for the beers in the fridge is a fantastic idea. I really enjoyed my time there!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Berlin, in large part due to Jetpak Alternative. It's a hostel designed for small groups and solo travelers. When I was there there weren't many people staying (as it was freezing and the off-season). So we all kind of hung out together, or at least gathered around the table in the kitchen area once...

Loved this hostel so much! Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and bathrooms and a killer location next to the park. Their fridge full of drinks is perfect for a refreshment after a long day in the amazing city of Berlin. Thanks again!

Very nice small hostel in a kind of alternative area of Berlin. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Hostel is small very unassuming entrance, and the friendly staff is usually of 1 person who rotate shifts. I found the shared bathrooms cleaner and spacious than regular hostels. free breakfast in the morning and nice spot to meet people....

I've had the best time of my Euro trip here in August 2016. The place is small, clean and friendly, the atmosphere is super laid back and chill, and the receptionist are the coolest Germans I've ever met, who give the best tips for getting to know the 'local' Berlin! Highly recommended for solo travelers as it's so easy to...

This is my favourite hostel in Berlin. It's clean, friendly and small. Big groups aren't allowed so everyone chats. Free coffee from their espresso machine with breakfast makes the price worthwhile. Lots of restaurants, bars and clubs nearby, plus it's a short walk to Friedrichshain with even more places to visit. I stayed here twice within three weeks.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
