Calma Mitte in Berlin is just that. Centrally located with trams and subway right outside the door, and quiet in spite of its central location. The staff is accommodating, very friendly with a high level of servicemindedness. You won't have to go far to find restaurants, and bars. Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor are just a 15 minute walk... More

Nice choice with the following in its favor: Great location –vibrant East Berlin neighborhood lined with interesting art galleries, shops, attractive and high quality restaurants right around the corner (Singaporean, Vietnamese, Italian). Short walk to public transport and we struck out from there to take in countless sights and local attractions. Bustling street outside the hotel, but our rooms were... More

Excellent location in Berlin! Hotel room very comfortable and a fair size room. A lot of great restaurants close by and a fantastic bakery across the street, which we bought our breakfast from there every morning. We were only a couple blocks from the Palast Berlin and saw a fabulous Cirqu show.

The hotel was perfect for our recent 4 night visit. I am in a wheelchair so require an accessible room which I got, room 213. I had to arrange stool in the lovely wetroom I also requested a kettle and extra pillows which I got. Loo and wetroom had handrails so all very easy. The location perfect for restaurants and... My friend and I were stayin at a normal 2 bed room. The room had enough space for our suitcases, sitting, moving around. Nice space indeed. It was very clean: bed, shower, towels. Very very clean. As soon as you get into the room you feel good: it's bright and coloured white and grey which gives you the feeling of... More

Location is great, short distance from the next U-bahn station. Quiet street yet around the corner from cafés, bars, restaurants, galleries, shops. Spacious room and bright large windows, dark curtains to keep out the morning light. Small yet very clean bathroom. Fresh towels every day. The only complaint I would be that sleeping in after a late night out was... More

This really is a hostel, not a full service hotel. No AC!! No telephone in the room, staff said there's no one in the hotel from 10p to 7a next morning. If you have a question you need to go down to the lobby or call from your cell & pay international roaming fee to ask a question. That means... More

A reception person was helpful when we called in to find out the location of the hotel. She sounded patient but somehow she wanted to finish soon as possible about the conversation ( I understand the hotel is busy but...) When we arrived to the hotel, my husband told me the reception avoided eye contact, never tried to look at him.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
