This place does was it says on the tin - you get a bed to sleep in and a bathroom and a kitchenette but not a lot else. The location is Ok if you want to stay in Kreuzberg but it's a bit of a walk to get to the U bahn station. However, be aware that the rooms are...

We booked this place as we were needed a place to stay near the summer course my daughter was visiting. The rooms are generous, a small cooking area is provided (double electric hob, small fridge, microwave, coffee machine, water kettle) which we did not use. The comfort level is basic however complete with a large double bed, a wardrobe, a...

There are some good things about this place - location - the kitchen - privat parking ( 10 euro) - good hard bed - free wifi. But there is something really bad that overules all the good things. The room is just to small !. The bathroom with the toilet squezes in.. so you gotta open the shower to sit...

Our room was one of the apartments with disabled access. I can't comment on how suitable it would be for someone with disabilities but we found it very comfortable and suitable for our needs. It was not cheap but it was good value and much cheaper than Vienna where we stayed earlier in the year. We had our own clean...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
