Had a long weekend in Berlin, staying in the Swissotel, beside the Kurfurstendam. The hotel is really modern with great art, primarily in the lobby and courtyard. The interior design overall including the bedroom furniture is really modern, with clean lines and high standard. The only downside was the size of the bed which although technically a full size double,...

I chose the Swisshotel after spending several other sleepless nights at un-airconditioned un-ventillated "5*" Marriott and Westin hotels in Germany. I ditched my loyalties and went for the best Tripadvisor hotel where nobody complained about the A/C. The Swisshotel had great reviews and deserves them all. The HVAC worked perfectly, the room had many many ammenities, and we got a...

I am a great fan of modern hotels and the Swissotel was one of the best. All mod-cons, sleek and fancy without being gaudy. Friendly staff, great location, big rooms with a decent restaurant and bar. Only minor fault might be that the lobby is on the first floor, I found that strange, but then again maybe I'm a little...

I found this hotel to be neat though the rooms seemed to be pretty small. The location was perfect for shopping, sightseeing and dinning.

I went to Swissotel Berlin for 3 nights with my husband last week. The hotel was very good and the staff were as friendly and helpful as they always are in Swissotels. We even got a late check-out on our last day until 5 p.m. free of charge when our flight left at 7 p.m. This was really appreciated since...

On our first trip to Germany, my wife and I booked to stay for one week. Not needing much more than a clean place to sleep at night, we received a pleasant surprise. I honestly can't rate this hotel highly enough. The customer service is great, restaurant fantastic and the location superb for sight seeing. Both of us travel frequently...

We loved the Swissotel. It is a big corporate hotel but seems to have a bit more soul than the Hilton's and Ramada's. It is right in the middle of anything cool and trendy that Berlin has to offer. The rooms were pure quality - we stayed in a junior suite and enjoyed comfortable beds, a smashing view over the...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
