Stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. Modern art design, cozy. Clean bed and room. Clean bathroom and toilets, bathroom design very considerate. Very nice and polite staff who help me communicate with taxi company and provide me warm drinking water at night. Quiet but sometimes you may hear train sound.

This hotel is all about art. Each room has its own distinctive artwork. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The shared bathroom is clean. The location is well placed and allows you to easily explore Berlin by foot, bus, and train (I recommend one getting the Berlin Pass)... -- Berlin Hauptbahnhof is about 800m away from the hotel --...

We stayed for 3 nights this past week. There are lockers for your luggage if you need to store it before check-in and all of the staff at the hotel is very nice. We had a double bed that's two twin beds together with separate duvets. As you probably know, each room is decorated with different art. I would describe...

Great location just a short walk to Friedrichstrasse rail station. Staff were excellent, very friendly and clear communicators. The hotel has some amazing artworks, particularly in the lobby. Tea and coffee, snacks and cold drinks available in the 24h reception area. We had a very spacious, quiet room with a nice firm king size bed. We had no issues with...

Clean, central, kind & helpful staff, lovely courtyard and fun artwork all around the hotel. Very close to the Reichstag building and Brandenburg gate. Some other reviewers commented on noise from the train line, but I found my room was almost perfectly soundproof - I enjoyed watching the trains zip by quietly just a foot or two away from my...

The rooms in this hotel are actually tasteful. Contemporary design, a very urban feeling has been given to this old building bang in the middle of Berlin. That's where the good points end, I'm afraid. The hotel reception photocopies passports and ID cards, although this is against the law. I booked a room whose bathroom was on the corridor, although...

Room was pretty basic but spacious, quite and comfort for a night of stay. Not specifically close to train station as it looked on the map. Shared bathroom was clean, however there was no close by supermarket for necessities.

This is a marmite hotel, you love it or loath it. The reception is very functional but hardly restful. The reception staff were unfailing helpful, spoke excellent English and were very polite. There an 'art work' of the lower part of a horse's head which is most odd and relates to nothing at all. There is a lovely shady courtyard surrounded...

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room wasn't exactly spacious but it wasn't cramped either. The room had walls that were art unto themselves and I found it wonderful. the lobby had a full cabinet of drinks and snacks for sale and a spacious lounge/reception area to read a newspaper and enjoy a glass of wine. It was a...

A fantastic location for seeing Berlin. Shared bathrooms were clean and no problems with queuing. The rooms are quirky and unique. Ours was made to look like an old train carriage. This was particularly apt as right outside the window was the S-Bahn, so it sounded it came complete with sound effects. The noise, however, did not detract from the...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
