The hotel is very close to Brandenburg gate so the location is fantastic. We had to share a bathroom and so if you prefer privacy then pay the extra. The room we were in was a little noisy as it was very close to the train tracks- the hotel do provide you with earplugs to deal with the noise. The... More

Quirky rooms. A bit dated but interesting. Lobby was nice though. No elevator and long stairs up to room. Communal bathrooms were fine. Our room had an airplane bed and interesting decor. Smaller room.

The grounds are open and clean. There's some coffee and tea you make yourself for one euro. The room we stayed in was nice, with high ceilings and a safari feel. The staff was helpful and respectful. I really enjoyed my stay, and when I (hopefully) return to Berlin, I will stay here again.

I loved staying in this fantastic hotel for 4 nights! I'd booked a specific room (No. 206- 'Caberet') by emailing the hotel directly, they replied promptly and professionally and the room didn't dissapoint. It was spacious, decorated like a 'love hotel' with a decadent red theme and lots of curious details including three vampy manniquins. Slightly bonkers and not for... More

It's a great location. The Tegel bus no longer stops at the door.....need to walk from Friedrichstrasse station......not that far. Walking distance to so many sights. We were on the second floor but had our bags carried up and down for us....thank you from a couple of 60+. We were right on the street and very close to the train... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Extremely close to Friedrich strasse. Helpful staff. 24 hours cheap cheese toasties which were pretty good. I would recommend asking to book a room as far away from the trainline as possible due to the noise. Great value but more of an upmarket hostel. Very clean.

Stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. Modern art design, cozy. Clean bed and room. Clean bathroom and toilets, bathroom design very considerate. Very nice and polite staff who help me communicate with taxi company and provide me warm drinking water at night. Quiet but sometimes you may hear train sound.

This hotel is all about art. Each room has its own distinctive artwork. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The shared bathroom is clean. The location is well placed and allows you to easily explore Berlin by foot, bus, and train (I recommend one getting the Berlin Pass)... -- Berlin Hauptbahnhof is about 800m away from the hotel --... We stayed for 3 nights this past week. There are lockers for your luggage if you need to store it before check-in and all of the staff at the hotel is very nice. We had a double bed that's two twin beds together with separate duvets. As you probably know, each room is decorated with different art. I would describe... More

Great location just a short walk to Friedrichstrasse rail station. Staff were excellent, very friendly and clear communicators. The hotel has some amazing artworks, particularly in the lobby. Tea and coffee, snacks and cold drinks available in the 24h reception area. We had a very spacious, quiet room with a nice firm king size bed. We had no issues with... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
