Rooms are clean and comfortable, if rather small and spartan - good basic accommodations. We were delighted with the location - a great neighborhood with good transit and plenty of cool shops and restaurants - and noticed no other hotels nearby. We did find the street noise a bit intrusive, and would definitely recommend asking for a rear-facing room. We...

Title of review says it all! The rooms were wonderful, the staff exceptional, the location convenient and in an exciting neighborhood, the breakfast had a good variety and I would definately stay here again.

Rooms very clean and complementary toiletries was a nice touch. Plenty of wardrobe space and mini fridge and safe box (unusually there was a charge for the safe). My only criticism would be that the overhead bedside lamp was very low and so one could very easily catch your head on it. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety and...

This is a basic hotel, good value and comfortable - but you stay here for the location. Tram 1 stop is right across the street (takes you to Museum Island), UBahn stop is a 5 minute walk (2 stops to AlexanderPlatz) but stay and explore the immediate neighborhood for funky restaurants and coffee bars, parks (with ping pong tables and...

Lovely hotel, very clean and has everything you need. The location was perfect for us - loads of lovely places to eat and drink nearby. Very quiet as well and nice friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if and when I return to Berlin.

We stayed 4 nights in this nice hotel. It's located right across the street from the tram, and is just two tram stops up from Hackerscher Markt, which has great connections. We enjoyed the street it was located on, which had lots of restaurants and amenities. The rooms were good sized, by European standards, with very modern bathrooms. We stayed...

Based in the Mitte area of Berlin, you could not be better placed for superb restaurants, bars and cafes. After spending six active days in and around Berlin, I am confident in saying this hotel, in this location, at the price would be hard to beat. Every day I presented myself at reception with a new request and regardless who...

A group of seven of us stayed here for the weekend as a base for my stag do. We chose the hotel due to the reviews on here, and its position near a decent number of bars. Although it was a stag do, a number of the group are a little bit older and therefore wanted somewhere reasonably decent, and...

A really excellent hotel, staff and atmosphere. Everything was good, location ideal, easy to get to from Berlin Hbf where I arrived and departed from (short S-Bahn and tram ride, or taxi ditto on way back). Room was well made up, warm, comfortable. Only little problem was the wi-fi but that was probably my fault - and the night porter...

Stayed for 5 nights at this hotel with my daughters in their 20s. We throughly enjoyed our stay, the location was great, staff are helpful and friendly, rooms spotless and an excellent breakfast. We felt like we were staying in a 'real' German hotel not one of those boring hotel chains that you find in every capital city.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
