Inexpensive, lovely big quiet room, excellent breakfast. Lift service. Friendly reception. In old east Berlin but good connection to centre and Schonefeld airport. A fairly quiet part of town. Highly recommended.

The classic rooms look just like the hotel pics. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to fulfill our requests. The hotel itself is a little outside the touristy area, but we walked 5 min to the tram and were in Alexanderplatz in less than 10 min. European shower without doors was interesting, but sometimes the bathroom floor got very...

Everything great (especially staff). A block from streetcar. A few minutes to Alexanderlatz. Very cute room. The Restaunt service and food near exquisite. All except the WIFI. That's the only negative from a ten, Ten, TEN, T E N. BILL

We had a lovely three night stay. Friendly staff, comfortable bed and fresh breakfast with plenty of options. Quiet neighborhood but easy access everywhere with trams. We can highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very nice. Breakfast was very good and the staff was very nice. I liked to location which near a funky neighborhood with a lot of good restaurants. The room had a king size bed. The restaurant was very good as well though we only ate there the first night as there were many more places to try....

We requested a kingsized bed in our booking and got two single beds. We then asked for a different room but they were full so we requested at least a double blanket (3 times) and received new one person blankets each time. Wifi was practically unusable in our room (5th floor). The light switches were highly impractical and sometimes didn't...

The room was exactly the same as photograph on website. Comfortable bed and very clean. Well stocked minibar if your into that. Our room was facing side street but even so very noisy with traffic, particularly ambulances heading to the hospital nearby. You can close windows and rely on aircon instead, if the noise is a problem. Good choice and...

My husband and I booked this hotel for our first anniversary getaway and were really happy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food was amazing. The breakfast was served in a building out the back of the main hotel and had so much choice. It was all labelled so there was no looking at things for ages...

I celebrated my 21st birthday in Berlin with my boyfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New Berlin. With great access to the SBahn and Trams, we were able to visit lots of different spots around Berlin. We attended two gigs whilst in Berlin, one at the Astra Kulturhaus which was a brilliant venue! The other was in a...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

“There is a lot of traffic noise in the rooms facing the main street. The annex was really quiet.”
  • My room in the annex was very different from the light, modern rooms advertised.
  • Not a great solution in my opinion.
