We were very lucky with our room, overlooking Alexanderplatz on the 25th floor. If you can, definitely ask for the room facing out across the city as opposed to East Berlin. Great customer service, helped us a lot with tourist activities etc. Was completely startled with how overpriced food was however. It was about 25 Euro for a buffet breakfast...

We stayed in a junior suite on the 34th floor. The view was stunning both day and night. There were four of us and we had plenty of room to get in and out of our luggage. The closets were large. We appreciated the WC was separate from the shower area with an extra sink; with four women this really...

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a group. The hotel is in a really good location for visiting all the sites and a couple of minutes from the train station. The room was fairly small with hardly any space for 2 suitcases and the pillows were not very good and very flat.. The bathroom was the big...

Even though I am used to higher standards when traveling solo, I did not have too great expectations for this hotel, both based on its brand and due to the fact that dozens of my colleagues were also staying at the hotel. This Park Inn is a barebones Radisson, so much so that they may want to hide that they...

Only one night but very positive. Nice staff, helpful and welcoming. Great location on Alexanderplatz with the U-Bahn and S-bahn on the door step. The bus to Tegel Airport also picks up and drops off more or less outside too. Breakfast was great and plentiful which is impressive as this is a huge hotel with a lot of guests eating...

I visited this hotel with a group in june 2013. The hotel is located in the center of Berlin, The rooms were clean but rather small: impossible to open two pieces of luggage. Dinner (buffet) was good and breakfast offered a large choice. I strongly regretted that no free wifi, nor free internet were available. ..

Stayed here 5 nights in May. Easily accessible from the airport by train - 2 mins from station. The reception, service and concierge services are brilliant. We had a problem with the fancy shower - flooding- which was resolved within 5 minutes. However we felt that the room cleaning was at best average - our wine glasses never washed- and...

Beautiful rooms, but VERY small (with no space for coffee making facilities apparently). Good beds, but the bathroom set-up is odd with the "transparent shower" in the room (fortunately they installed a curtain between the shower and the bed) and a glass toilet door that doesn't let you have a lot of privacy when you need it most. Friendly personnel,...

The line for check-in was about 20 people long, so I had to drop my bags and come back later. The rooms were very small. There was no iron, but room service brought one quickly. The view from my room was excellent and the location is perfect. Not a bad place to stay if you want to be centrally located...

I stayed here with my husband and two children for four nights in June 2013 as a part of a large conference group. The hotel is very big but spotless and efficient; the check-in and concierge lines moved quickly. The staff is always smiling, polite, and helpful, which was surprising at such a large and busy hotel. We had a...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
