I saw this on a travel show many years ago and it was the first on my list when i finally had the opportunity to go to Berlin. It was a fascinating place to stay, full of retro charm. We were in the newer section...More
If you are looking for something different in a good way, then this is the place. We had a comfortable nights sleep in the turtle, we would go for the caravans or shed next time. Very friendly staff and good security.
I loved my little camper - it was called Snow White. It had everything and it was very comfy. If I would have stayed longer in town, I would have stayed longer.
The downside was that it's really not soundproof at all and as soon...More
We were thinking of camping in Western Australia and ended up camping in Berlin instead. This city is anti gentrification and we really felt that we did our bit fitting in. A great team they really looked after our family and our kids got right...More
We booked Huttenpalast as a group of 20 for a celebration, Hans and the other staff were fantastic, helping us with restaurants, bike hire, locating lost phones, hosting a big dinner for us all with impromptu buskers arriving to serenade us with Prince and Tina...More
No Berlin neighbourhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as “Little Istanbul“. Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down
Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
