Berlin has many opportunities about Hotels, so you have to find one near your tour and with good price. Hotel lebensQuelle is near Checkpoint Charlie but not cheap. The furniture was old, needs a reform.

Stayed 4 days with 2 friends. Room and cleaning good. Location is next to Checkpoint Charlie, and just around the corner is the start of Oranien Strasse, which leads straight into Kreuzberg, which was great. Service was good. Breakfast was ok, but be down there by 0900, after that things are not filled up very quickly. Great hotel for the...

Ok. This place is functional and very well situated for visiting the usual Berlin sites by foot, our room was clean and comfortable with good towels and a very clean bathroom. The rates reflect that this is not a 'luxury' hotel but the huge array of breakfast buffet items with both hot and cold fare was exceptional! The ladies in...

Ok hotel nothing fancy does what it need to do. Beds baths breakfast and 5 minutes from Checkpoint Charlie. Clean but a bit worn out. Sweet staff a bit confused about the parking rules. 5th floor is without elevator

In our experience this is a cheap, clean and well run hotel. On the basic side but everything was more than adequate. Our room was small but the shower room was modern (better than most more expensive hotels). Breakfast was a strange mix but was ample - the only thing I missed was bacon! Good location near Checkpoint Charlie -...

LebensQuelle Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the ruins of Berliner Mauer(Berlin Wall) and 10 minutes walk from Check point Charlie. It is located in a posh locality of Berlin, namely Axel_Springer Strasse. Rooms are cosy and comfortable and in sunny days there is no dearth of sunlight. I enjoyed my stay here for 4 days.It is well connected to...

Nice room and friendly staff. They let us borrow a fan. The room was clean. The full breakfast was quite good (9/10). Signage could be more aware of international visitors. The school of psychology and counseling in the second and third floors kind of creeped me out.

If you took a picture of the room and ensuite you'd say 3 1/2 star, however we found the experience to be far less. The elevator Only goes to level 4, we were on level 5? 40 steps without any help, with luggage to the fifth level not so good. Upon opening the room door we smelt 😁 not so...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
