Stayed for 3 nights in a twin room- the hotel is basic- there are no airs and graces, however the room was a decent size, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good (standard continental) and the location was brilliant for the price paid. 10 minute walk from check point Charlie (if that), closest U-Bahn is at the...

So this place was relatively cheap and when looking online, appeared close to a few places we wanted to visit. We were a 10min walk from Checkpoint Charlie and maybe a further 10mins from Topography of Terror. The actual main city centre was about 10mins away by subway so it was quite easy to get to. The hotel itself well......

Hotel has great location - very close to Check Point Charlie, i had room in upper floor, just normal room - a bit old fashioned. Breakfast was okay - cheese, meat, breakfast cereals, fruits, yogurt, coffee etc.

This is more hostel than hotel. The building is careworn, dark and sombre without any facilities for guests apart from the breakfast room and a vending machine. The staff were surly and the bedroom was narrow and lacked even a mirror. The bed was singularly the most uncomfortable I have ever tried to sleep in! The positives are its proximity...

If you're looking for somewhere fairly inexpensive and in a good location for sightseeing than you couldn't do better than this. Breakfast is decent enough and I managed to check in at 12.30am with little issue. The vending machine in the hotel also sells beer!

Equipment in our room was budget-like and the groundplan of the room was very nonstandard. Clearly the reason was that hotel rooms are built on the top of the old house in attic. Old house has high ceiling and lift ends in the 4th floor. On the way to your room you must go with your luggage on stairs to...

Only highlights! Top: breakfeast; clean; no noise; ideal temperature inside the bedroom. Amazing location! wonderful beer houses just a few metres away. Perfect to sighseeing Berlim by foot! On the night we arrived it was already late (11pm) and everything was ready for a quick check inn. Staff was extremely friendly and it is possible to get in any time...

This is a budget hotel. it's fairly basic but also quite well located, close to a metro station and walking distance to a lot of central Berlin. The wifi worked, the room was clean, but a little chilly and it was fine for a night. Breakfast was adequate and for the price quite good. If you're on a budget I'd...

This hotel is far from a boutique hotel, that being said there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I had nothing to complain about. I got a very good deal for a family room, close to the uban, shops, café's and anything else you may need. On arrival we were checked into a room on the ground floor, I think...

Our huge room was on the 4th floor. It was at the back of the building so was quiet. We taped the curtains together as they didn't meet. The beds were incredibly hard but we did manage to get some sleep, particularly once we'd got an extra pillow. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. There was good...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
