This is such a nice spot! I really had a great time there! It just feels like a super tidy students house, with nice roommates whom you can hang out with, and exchange stories with, and talk about Berlin hot-spots. So a nice place to get to know open minded people. The interior has a cute randomness about it, with...

I checked in with high expectations: it's a cosy little flat in a nice neighbourhood that's been turned into a hostel. The atmosphere seemed friendly and laid-back, an most of the reviews were good, so I was really excited about chilling out here for a few days. Then on my first night I was bitten all over the face, neck,...

We arrived at Zwingli Strasse and were told we were getting a room at Dortmunder Strasse. We were asked to pay for the week when we had not even seen the room. So we insisted to see the room. We walked to the other hostel and viewed the room which was nice. We were shown the kitchen and were told...

Not your conventional hostel -- feels like living in a share house only much cleaner! The staff are super friendly and approachable, and give you and and all info you need for your stay in Berlin. The maps and tour pamphlets are particularly great, and it's easy to get to attractions by the metro, though if you're heading to Hauptbahnhof...

Paula and the team are so helpful. The place my friend and I stayed in was only new, and still undergoing work, and I didnt mind helping out when needed. I enjoyed that. Paula and the team would offer advise as to where to go and where to eat that was good value and service. It is located in a...

It's a clean, cozy place (definitely feels like home) with unbelievably friendly people working. There is only one shower but it wasn't really a problem for me because the place was not that crowded. I'll definitely go there if I ever come to Berlin again.

I was there in the run up to Xmas so it was v-e-r-y quiet. I stayed three weeks in a single room in the newer property (just a few hundred meters from the original) and after the first week there was only one other guest. So as many have said, it not only felt like a flat-share, in this case...

Oh, thank you so much for your nice words :) It is probably the most informative review we ever had ! It was a real pleasure to have met you and an honour to welcome you as our guest. I really hope we could continue with our discussions in the nearest future. Best wishes for 2013 xx

Me and my three friends stayed there for a week, during our interrailtrip through Europe. It was cheap for that kind of place. We found the place easily by just following the directions. The "hostel" itself was more like a shared apartment (which we enjoyed a lot!), and the hosts and the owner was so nice and easy to talk...

Thanks a lot for visiting us and becoming a part of the family. What else can I say? Nice people, great music, wonderful time. It will be great if you come back to your home in Berlin in future xx

This place is in a very trendy area of Berlin so that is definitely a bonus. It sits above a very good tapas restaurant. The room we had was massive and cosy. The things that weren't good were the following: there is only 1 bathroom for various rooms. That's not great for people who need to use facilities if someone...

Yes! The comment is absolutely correct. We do have just one bathroom (but are planning to build more), and a couple of other improvements are on the way. Welcome back anytime!

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.

“There's a restaurant underneath. If you are in the first bedroom on the right, you are actually above the bar so you might hear the music. I imagine in summer with windows open you may also here diners on the terrace.”
