I stayed at the Maritim proArte Hotel for a 3 day conference. I had a double bedroom in the 6th floor. The room was quite spacious and clean, it had everything you would expect from this type of hotel. The swimming pool is not huge and the whole wellness area, could do with some TLC. to me the best of...

This hotel is very well located - walking distance to a great many sights, attractions, restaurants and shops. The decor was stylish and modern, particularly in the lobby and bar. I appreciated that the grasshopper was among the bar's featured cocktails, because grasshoppers are delicious, and should be a featured cocktail everywhere, always. However, if I were being charitable, I...

Very nice hotel, I have stayed there for 1 night on a business trip. Super good breakfast buffet. The staff is really professional and works very efficiently. Room was spacious, with a big bathroom. The only minus is that my room was situated next to the elevator, so I could hear the slight sound of the elevator signal.

... and uncomplicated. It delivers in what it is: 4*city center in European capital city. Nothing extra special, but everything streamlined and on a high level of cleanliness, available services and professionalism. Quiet room, comfortable bed. Besides this I used the room service (well prepared and precise friendly service), the lobby bar and breakfast buffet.

We were pleased with the accommodations we received from this hotel. Staff members greeted us warmly and the lobby looked very luxe, so it was a good first impression. We found the room and bathroom to be very clean and of a good size for two people - not spacious, but pretty similar to most American budget chain hotel room...

As a monthly traveller i get to visit many hotels and usually hotels leave you some kind of impression. This was "just a hotel", managed by German faceless efficiency. Check-in was fast and the lady at the desk was really helpful. Rooms were nice but a bit old fashioned but looked better than in the photos. Restaurants and bars were...

The two things I liked in this hotel are: separate lift to the very nice swimming pool and sauna, and the localization of this hotel close to Friedrichstrasse train station. Otherwise it was just OK, nothing more. Tea and coffee bags were not replenished in my room, hotel clocks were showing wrong time, too little space in the breakfast room,...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
