Loved my stay at Motel One Spittelmarkt. Nice and extremely clean rooms with comfortable beds and a shower that's better than the one I have a home! Very friendly and helpful staff, both at the reception and the bar. The lounge was an excellent place to unwind after a long day in the city: very cosy and relaxed. Breakfast was...

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for a conference. The location is great - very central, close to 2 subway lines (U2 is right there, and U6 is a 10-minute walk away). The staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby is super comfortable and very nice to sit there and read or do work. Outlets all around and...

So, stayed here for two nights during a work meeting. It's a newish hotel (part of a chain) located on a main road, roughly between Alexanderplatz and Checkpoint Charlie. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Rooms - for a 'budget' hotel - were comfortable and quiet (in spite of the main road outside). Wi-fi is free and very rapid. The...

I always like staying at Motel One hotels. They are great. Comfortable beds, good wifi, clean rooms and a great breakfast. I even had for dinner one night a couple of their toast sandwiches and they were really great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here!

Spent 2 nights at Motel One. Situated closed to U2 and in a central place. Had excellent services and beautiful lounge. The rooms are a bit squeezed but adequate. I had requested for an early check in, which I got and was able to relax after 11 hours flight to Berlin. Highly recommend!

The positives of this hotel are the staff, it's location and price. The staff are very helpful and every request was dealt with minimal fuss. The checking was easy with no fuss. We didn't include breakfast at the time of booking but were able to arrange this (which you would expect in any event) at a cost of €19.00 per...

Great location. Friendly staff and great value for money at €70. Rooms are compact but the bed is really comfortable and a nice large flat screen tv. The wifi was fine and the bathroom nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was nice with a lovely view. Top spot. Will be staying again.

Location wise, its right next to the underground station and a 20 minute walk to Mitte centre/30mins walk to Bradenburg Gate. Few restaurants and shops nearby, lidl is a 5 minute walk. All staff in the hotel spoke perfect English and they were always friendly and offering advice. Breakfast was a typical continental, with eggs, breads, meats etc. It did...

We stayed in Motel One for 3 nights in December. When we first arrived at motel one we were surprised at how close it was to the U-Bahn, it was less than a minutes walk away. The rooms are small but there is more than enough storage space. The bathroom and toilet were separate but the shower was excellent. The...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
