This review is based on 2 stays, both booked through AMEX FHR. Stay 1: booked standard room, received Brandenburg Gate Deluxe Suite, lots of amenities (chocolates, fruit, water, wine), but had a long wait for check-in, which was annoying after arriving at about 15:15. However, fantastic suite so didn't mind too much. We didn't use the F+B credit (except on... More

The Adlon in Berlin is perfectly located and offers grand accommodations with impeccable service at a price. Great food venues from a lavish breakfast buffet to refined lunch and dinner options. A short walk from some of the sites and shopping areas

The Adlon experiense is less than the sum of its parts. Those parts in question are exquisite: the building is lovely, the rooms are immaculate and the location must be one of the very best in the world. Why then does it not all come together? The first challenge is staffing. Never less than polite and with a very high... More

I've been here in vacation and the location is amazing. The service is at the standards of the other kempiski hotels in the world. There is a very nice gallery in the hotel where I even bought a painting of an emerging artist. This is the place where you should go in Berlin

The staff of this hotel is one of the friendliest I've ever come across -- from the moment we entered until the moment we left. We were upgraded to an executive suite and enjoyed the welcoming gifts. The Lorenz restaurant (two star Michelin) was fabulous and very reasonably priced with excellent service match the food. The breakfat buffet was also... More

This comfort zone in the very heart of Berlin is like a treasure speaking of hospitality, service and discretion, last but not least it offers all extra pleasures you could need and possibly think of, and that will come on top of all that you really basically require for smooth business or leisure travel. Professional staff without exception, welcoming you... More

I was traveling alone and so had the hotel's car pick me up. Service was great and I was upgraded upon check-in. The rooms are very high-tech and quiet. Location can't be beat. I felt very safe walking alone in the area.

The front office was excellent & did everything to enhance our trip. We were upgrade to a larger room on arrival. The concierge sorted out all our restaurant bookings and changes. Bar area was very relaxed and informal.

Such a great location. I had breakfast looking out over the Brandenburg Tor each morning. The rooms are fantastic, and the service is top notch. My only "criticism" is that the central lobby gets full of people who settle in for the afternoon. So it can be difficult to find a spot to sit down and enjoy the ambience. The... More

Visited for a conference and arrived to a red carpet press welcome (not for me, apparently Bill Clinton was arriving the same night). Also the hotel where Michael Jackson performed his baby dangling stunt from one of the top floor windows! Very impressive place, though as you would expect, extremely expensive. I'm glad my stay was on the company. Right... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
