Really impressed with this hotel. Stayed 3 nights with my boyfriend on a trip around Europe to various cities and this hotel was the best we stayed in, in terms of cleanliness and facilities. We were allowed to leave our luggage there as we arrived early. The only thing that was slightly annoying was that we were in a different... More

We were very surprised when we opened the door to our room (after a swift and efficient check-in, including directions to the building in which our room was located) and were confronted with a large and bright space, a bigger-than-double bed with massive pillows, well-made bedding and towels. Better still, we had a balcony! (great for smokers ;-) ) We... More

We stayed in the main hostel and had a pleasant stay, the room had everything we needed and was big for a hostel room. The staff were friendly enough and as long as you plan ahead and either check in within the hours they specify or call ahead for late check in and they will leave the keys in a... More

Easy to get there, I arrived at around 6.30 pm and there was the receptionist waiting for me. The room was nice, clean, the balcony had a good view. I had a great time in Berlin and I would recommend Pension Reiter to all my friends. I would suggest for those that arrive after 6 pm to announce this either... More

I was in the annexe, which is eight rooms on the ground floor of a block of flats on Karl-Marx-Allee, a bit of a trek from the hotel. The room was simple, but modern, clean and comfortable and had all amenities (inc. wlan). The bathroom was shared, but was always clean and everything worked. The hotel is three U-bahn stops... Four of us recently stayed at Hotel-Pension Reiter and were very happy with our experience. We came to Berlin for the International Beer Festival and Reiter was the absolute prefect location! The hotel-pension itself was actually what we expected. There are no bathrooms in the rooms – there were two complete bathrooms per floor, which was sufficient. The morning breakfast... More

Terrible experience: we booked this hotel last minute after our flight home was cancelled. The rude lady at reception told us she had to cancel plans with her friends because we arrived late and then overcharged us (tried to take cash - very dodgy!). Plus the Wifi wasn't working and there was a hole in the basin of the shared... More

I stayed at this hotel two years ago and found it to be good value and close to the Friedrichshain district. I decided to stay there again on this trip. On arrival at the hotel I was given a key and a map to another building 500 metres. It was inferior to the hotel's rooms, but the price was 30%... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
