We visited the Capri apartment. It was clean, had towels, an excellent wifi and is quiet. The view at the park is nice. Trips into the city can be done perfectly from here by foot, bike or U-bahn (5 minutes walk). Lots of nice restaurants at a walk distance amongst the Kastanienallee. Stefan Hiller (our contact) is a nice guy...

We stayed for 8 nights the last week of August 2014 at the Centro apartment on Leipziger Strasse. Location The location was perfect for us. It was within walking distance to most of the sights we were interested in. We walked to museum island, the Reichstag, Kreuzberg, Jewish museum, Checkpoint Charlie, Topographies of Terror, Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, Berlin...

We stayed for 4 nights in the Oasis apartment, great location. Just a 5 mins walk from the subway which was easy to navigate and a supermarket just down the road. Very spacious rooms and had everything we needed. The only downside was the shower (which was a bit difficult to use) and the bed wasn't particularly comfortable but neither...

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Isabella apartment for 7 days in August. The location was perfect - Hackesche Markt is lovely at night with loads of restaurants to choose from. Also, not even two minutes in the other direction brings you straight onto Alexander Platz - loads of shops and restaurants, also the Alexa Passage (big shopping centre)....

My boyfriend and I visited Berlin in April for the first time. The area we stayed in was a great location for us as it was a base to explore Berlin's sights without having to travel too far. Our balcony overlooked a park in a peaceful residential area, perfect for relaxation! There is a takeaway on the corner of the...

(Wish TripAdvisor had half-stars. I erred high. This was a four and a half star experience.) Having just returned from an eight night stay in Berlin Habitat's "Parkview Junior Suite," I can happily report that it is as advertised: well-situated, light, and wonderfully serviceable for those interested in exploring Berlin and self-catering. Sitting on the border of Mitte and Prenzlauer-Berg...

Great location. Stefan is a perfect host. We were in Berlin for business and it was great having an apartment to come back to at the end of the day that felt like home. The whole place was very clean and easy to navigate. Right next to the U-Bahn, supermarkets and all you need. Highly recommended. We will definitely be...

We stayed in Parkview Suite Sepia for 6 nights in August 2013 and found it to be a very pleasant experience. The apartment is on about the fourth floor (lift available) with a view of the popular park next door. We enjoyed hearing music every evening. The apartment was a very comfortable studio, but certainly roomy enough for two and...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
