Room was very modern, included stocked fridge which can be used for your own things as you can remove the bottles without being charged. The bathroom is separated from the room by only a glass wall and no door. The bar upstairs was quite claustrophobic feeling and as they allow smoking indoors was quite smoky but I am a non smoker...

Just home from a 3 night stay here. Lovely hotel. Nice pleasant staff. Rooms were nice. Beds comfortable. Very quiet at night not like other hotels people banging doors and shouting in corridors. Wasn't a sound in it. Only thing was we were across from a construction site and started working round 7am but not hotels fault. Didn't eat here...

The hotel is stylish and nicely decorated. Rooms are very small and the shower/bathroom is not integrated in the bedroom (not really suited as a double room). Amenities are minimalist: no kettle, water, body lotion - only soap and hair dryer. Very limited space to put your stuff. Breakfast is great - as is location. Cleanliness is ok but not...

I stayed at the Hotel Amano from November 21st - 25th 2016. My husband and I stayed at this hotel in December 2009 when it was newly built and had a fantastic time, so were expecting good things again. We weren't disappointed! This hotel is very modern and minimalist, which I love. The rooms are very simply decorated with very...

My girlfriend and I stayed here the last weekend in November Friday to Monday. I booked an M apartment early in September so we had the option to make our own food. Firstly the kitchen is very limited- there isn't a toaster or microwave, there is only a hob and kettle so all you can do is boil or fry...

I happened to stay at Amano for 6 nights and had a good experience. The staff is friendly and really helped me everyday with directions as I was new to the city. My room had a clean and crisp look and though small was comfortable. The best thing about the hotel is the location, most of the touristy places are...

Would definitely stay at the Amano again - friendly staff, good location near metro and shops, nice rooms and good reception and bar on ground floor. Had to move rooms due to lights not working but that was handled well.

This hotel/apartment was beautifully decorated, minimal but simply gorgeous. Sadly, I haven't got any full length snaps of the bathroom to show you, but it was insane! The bathroom had these gorgeous black and white tiles on the floor with a humongous shower which filled half of the room! Also, I really liked the little touch of leaving fortune cookies...

My friend and I stayed at the hotel on Thursday and Friday night. Two females. The hall had a funky smell but the room was clean. In Friday night we encountered 3 large men in late 20s who were drunk. They were looking at us in a strange way when we walked by. Their room was next to ours. I...

I sThe location is in the middel of everything. Walking distance to nice bars and restaurant. I loved the coffee machine in the room, but it should be at least 2 free coffees. Nobody likes to go down to the lobby and buy capsules in the morning. No minibar is also a minus. Other than that the hotell is perfect....

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
