We were greeted by possibly the most miserable receptionist ever. He was efficient but grumpy. The room was also efficient but the bath towels were thin and small, as were the pillows. The breakfast is overpriced and you are far better off using the delightful bakery on the corner across the road. We asked why they didn't have kettles any...

Went to Berlin on Dec-16 for a long weekend to the Christmas markets. Fantastic time had by all. Friendly and inviting atmosphere in all markets and restaurants. definitely worth going if you haven't been before to Christmas markets. great beer and food and not forgetting the sausages.

Flew into Berlin for a short escape from the festive season back home. A straightforward journey from Schonefeld Airport but no drop off bar on the street and through the snow. Reception staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable which is always a key factor. We didn't have breakfast included; mainly as we enjoy visiting as many places as possible in...

Recently returned from a 4 night stay in the hotel over the New Years period. Hotel was very clean throughout, beds and towels were changed daily. Double bed came with two single duvets which was not ideal. Reception staff were helpful and all spoke very good English. The breakfast left a lot to be desired and at €9.90 was slightly...

This is a clean, basic city centre hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are serviced regularly, and shower gel, soap and shampoo are provided. Two negatives, the pillows are not good, but ask at reception, and they'll give you a second one, which makes a huge difference. Also, there are no tea/coffee making facilities, which seems odd....

Had a lovely, but short, stay in Charlottenburg and this hotel was prefect! Just what we needed, very very helpful staff who spoke brilliant English, a very short walk away from the the station and so close to the beautiful Christmas markets at the palace which were also just a very short walk away. Berlin is my new favourite city...

We stayed at the Ivbergs Hotel with friends, our stay was from Tuesday through to Saturday. It is only 25 minutes from the Airport. The hotel is well situated it's on the major Bus routes and the Metro is only about 8-10 minute walk. You are not far from some of the big shopping centres, some you can walk to,...

Really enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights. Clean and comfortable, though the pillows either need replacing or there needs to be 2 per person! Luckily, they were big enough to double over! Beds are comfortable & we had 2 single duvets on a double bed! Very odd, but saved us fighting over one! There are no tea/coffee making facilities...

10 minutes walk from the Metro and near to Schloss Charlottenburg-but a long way (25mins on Metro) to say Museum Island. The local district is fine-no problems. Good points the hotel is clean and well decorated. Everything works. Minus points tiny room with 12 inches between bed and wall-one chair for two people Breakfast is a little food spread over...

A no frills hotel that offers, clean and quiet rooms a fair way from all of the major tourist attractions. The transport links close by mean that the location is not a problem. The Charlottenburg train station is about a 5-10 min walk away. Easy to get to and from schonefeld airport and the tourist areas. There are several bars...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
