Booked this hotel as part of a package deal for our first visit to the Christmas markets. Greeted by a very frosty receptionist who could barely speak to us. Asked if we could leave our luggage as we had arrived earlier than planned, you would swear we had asked for gold! Took our bags somewhat reluctantly and we set off...

Upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist was very unfriendly and told us to shush and wait. She was very rude when we asked for direction and what things we can do that are near by. The hotel was based in the quiet side of Berlin. The room was big and clean but very disappointing, no wifi, coffee or tea facilities....

Stayed here with my boyfriend on our first visit to Berlin. Very basic rather small hotel (may seem not very welcoming) but nice. Roughly 15 mins away from main attractions on a main road, taxis easy to get and regular, however next time would get a hotel nearer to things. Very clean hotel, cannot fault anything to do with cleanliness....

Was greeted at the reception with the news(by the male receptionist ) that they did not have a room for me ! I asked if they would contact Viva Holidays and check out the problem as this was a package holiday and was curtly told no they could not do this and I had to pay 218 euros so I...

We stayed there for 3 nights in October. I had a single room that was very small, but that's always the way with singles. It had everything you needed, even a hairdryer and soap and shampoo. The shower was powerful. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. My room was at the front and even with double glazing...

I've visited Berlin many times and stayed at different hotels but this one is the worst by far. My room was at the ground floor and I could see (and hear) the parking lot from my window. THERE IS NO WIFI (payed or otherwise) in the hotel. The stuff was very unpleasant. The room was actually not very clean, it...

We are two friends, who traveled together to Berlin and stayed at the Ivbergs Hotel in the Charlottenburg neighborhood. We requested a room with two separate beds and were positively surprised upon receiving a large family room with a double bed and a single bed. Good, satisfying breakfast, friendly staff, a tourist bus stop just across the street, several restaurants...

Most staff very polite, helpful and speak very good english - excellent, clean and tidy hotel. Would definitely stay at this hotel again! Not far from the tube either. Breakfast was fantastic too. Would recommend this hotel, and personally would rate it more than 3 stars.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
