Very nicely situated in a lively and nice part of the town. Easy access to U-Bahn and Tram. Many restaurants and bars in the area. Also 2 supermarkets close by. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff! Very clean and nice apartments. Maybe a little bit smaller, and more worn out than on the pictures. But everything was functioning very...

I staied together with my family (5 Persons) for four days in one flat. Location is good and the flat itself is ver nice but some of the furniture were quite old. Sleeping was not so good as it is an old building with normal flates and you could hear the people in the flat above working around in the...

We really enjoyed our stay at Brilliant Apartments! After a few weeks in hotels we were ready for the freedom and relaxation of an apartment. Our apartment was at the back of the building overlooking a courtyard. It was quiet, clean and spacious. Fully-equipped kitchen. Felt like home. No lift, and we were on the fourth floor, but Simon insisted...

Loved the apartment (Rubin) and the area so much. Lots of cool cafes, gorgeous restaurants and tree lined streets with interesting shops. Travelled with two kids- 13 and 7- and we all loved our stay. The apartment is bigger than in the pictures and equipped with everything you need. I wanted to transport it back to Ireland as the decor...

We really enjoyed our stay with Brilliant Apartments. The suite was well furnished, with a great bed ... and dead quiet at night (faces an interior courtyard). We couldn't have been happier, and would definitely return and recommend it to friends.

Very accessible by tram, lots of feedback from the owners about ensuring access whatever time we arrived; nice cafe downstairs below the apartment serves good coffee, cakes and more; owners happy to help with odd requests (we needed scales to check the weight of our luggage on departure home); apartment clean and well maintained, with all the basic utensils we...

We stayed in Opal for 4 nights and it was great! The apartment was large enough and it was nicely decorated. Cafe Krone was downstairs and the staff helped with printing tickets, storaging luggage etc. The location was simply great, Oderberger Strasse is a nice quiet street with lots of clothes shops and cafes. Wifi worked well and the whole...

We stayed for 12 days during August, and had a really great time. It strikes just the right balance between having comfortable and interesting surroundings. The apartment had everything you would need, but mainly good beds, crisp, clean linen and all the essentials. The owners were friendly and helpful, it was easy to accommodate all the bikes and specialist tools...

We stayed in the Bernstein apartment with our two children. The apartment was fantastic - enormous bedrooms, lovely high ceilings, and a great little balcony onto the street. The area is beautiful, and we were very sad to leave after only 4 nights. The main bed was superbly comfortable. There is no dishwasher or microwave. A microwave in particular would...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
