Staying at the singer was like being in a hotel. Very clean, modern, and comfortable and there was even a TV in my room. Also great was the fast wifi, hair dryers to borrow, and lockers in each room. The downfall was the lack of atmosphere in the common areas, which, for people travelling alone can be frustrating. Other than...

Had a great stay at this hostel. When you walk in it feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Great location and facilities (literally 10 min walk to the centre) very clean and friendly staff! Also very reasonable prices, would definitely recommend it :)

Booking a bed in this hostel was a terrible decision. I had chosen it for many reasons, security being the main one and this was one of the many things that did not fulfill my expectations: Although the main entrance is closed between 22 & 6 am, there is a bouncer and at least 2 doors have to be broken...

Staying with Singer109 was an ok experience :) Kind of strange because the common room is actually more like a reception with a huge atrium but the friendly staff and cheap price make up for that. The location is also quite ok as the metro, stores and Alexander Platz are actually not that far - especially if you hire a...

Clean Spacious Looks much more luxurious than expected Friendly staff We found that location wasnt great, had to take metro to get anywhere but berlin in general is a large city and tourist attractions are quite spaced out! So berlin isnt the best of cities for a cheap 3days during backpacking! Would have been better to go for a week...

This hostel is huge! It has great atrium which looks like (probably was) a yard, smokers lounge inside, table football and billiards. Staff is mostly nice and helpful and the rooms are perfectly clean. The hostel is in very quiet location, but just 5 minutes walk to Alexanderplatz.

Overall it was a comfortable enough stay, however we were staying in a room that faced the centre atrium of the building. As its all enclosed, we had no ventilation and during the height of summer it made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Its also quite noisy when you face the lobby as you here everyone entering (particularly if they're...

I was extremely impressed with this hostel, the cleanliness, the decor, and the friendliness. I could hardly believe I paid just 25 euro for the room. Very conveniently located near parking, just ask the front desk where the free parking is. Also it is very easy to find your way into the main part of Berlin because as soon as...

Felt like a hotel from atrium reception to clean towels in the bathroom. Single room turned out to be a twin - modern and very spacious. Breakfast is fair enough (breads, ham, scrambled egg, cereal). Entry and bar both 24hr - handy after late night clubbing. Quiet place to come back to (except once when a school party arrived). Location...

The staff was really helpfull when we needed help about what to see and how to get there. The rooms where really...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
