The hotel is conveniently situated on a main street but to carry luggages down a flight of stairs is a little clumsy. The hotel does not have a lift which cam cause difficulties for elder persons. Otherwise the rooms are clean. The breakfast is very good and more than adequate. The city is wonderful and i think the castle walls...

Great hotel in centre of town that offers secure garage, ideal for car or motorcycle. Very clean and comfortable rooms, good traditional breakfast. Fantastic location for all the sights and restaurants. Like all hotels in the historical centre, expect cobble stones and lots of steps / stairs. Would go back.

We wanted to stay in the old town and experience Rothenburg at night. This was a great find. Not cheap but we had a great family room with plenty of space and 4 beds (no sofa bed😀😀). The breakfast was lovely and the place had a good vibe. We would recommend it to anyone. Clean, friendly and central. Leave your...

This is not the Four Seasons. But, the hotel is very nice. Our rooms were large. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. We ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed it. Hearty, solid food but not a gourmet restaurant. They also have their own parking garage which is huge and convenient to the hotel. Location cannot be beat in...

The lovely hotel is situated on the bylanes near the main square, so location is ideal. The lane where the hotel is located is closed for vehicles, so you have to drag your suitcases from main square. We ended up with broken suitcase wheels due to the cobbled roads. We got a room facing the street which was lovely but...

We stopped for one night here. They were very accommodating, and let us check in early. Our family of 5 fit comfortably in the 3rd floor walk up room (4 flights of stairs). The staff were all friendly, helpful and spoke English. Supper and breakfast were both nice- good selection and satisfying. Hotel has been recently remodeled, so everything felt...

Arrived v tired with our bikes to find Rothenburg busy over a public holiday weekend. Several places we tried as we walked the streets were full. The welcome here was so cheerful with lots of smiles and help with garaging the bikes and carrying our panniers. We took their last room. Excellent location just off the main square and it's...

We were looking for a place to stay centrl to the old part of Rothenburg and this was perfect. I don't expect much from a hotel, clean, comfortable, because it's not where I'm spending my time. and I don't need to be waited on. Hotel zur Sonne is located an easy block off the central square in the heart of...

This is a review of the restaurant only; can't find it as a separate listing on TA. Excellent food. Expensive -- 20 euro pp for lunch (water or soda and entree). Staff was very nice, very nice decor, great bathrooms, cozy on a winter day. Selection was pretty good; the venison ragout was outstanding and the venison steak was tasty...

We were travelling as a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids, 1 toddler and an infant), hence the triple room worked out perfectly for us. (we brought along our own cot bed). We had room # 8 which was facing the street , but since the main tourist hordes leave Rothenburg by 5-6pm, the nights are very very...
