located in the historic town, it's a great place to explore it and get to know less touristy bars and eateries. hotel is basic. has a good buffet breakfast and a lovely patio to enjoy it. rooms are no thrills. service is ok and has suffered due to pandemic. as in all of Nuremberg, prices vary madly if there is a trade fair, with family tourists suffering steep prices.

Lovely cosy hotel located in the historic centre of Nuremberg. The rooms are very comfortable, well laid out and clean. The staff are professional and friendly and provide a high level of customer service. The leisure area includes a pool, sauna and fitness section. The pool size was comparable to that of other 4 star hotels in the city and was very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was very tasty and varied and was served in a lovely historic dining room that featured a fantastic mural on human rights. Loved this hotels non-discrimination policy. Thank you for some old normal Burghotel 👍

Hotel is conveniently located near city square and churches. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed with enclosed shower. Staff was super friendly. Parking is located several blocks away and cost 14 euros. Breakfast is an extra charge. Hotel has pool and sauna in basement.

Have been a returning customer at Burghotel for many years now. Nice and serviceminded staff. This Hotel is old, but in good condition. At this moment they are upgrading. Short distance to many nice places to see and close to restaurants. City center is in walking distance from the Hotel.

We turned up at the hotel for check-in early only hoping to be able to store our suitcase until our room became available. The extremely courteous and helpful Reiner (hope I spelled it correctly) said it was our lucky day as they did have a room ready for us. The staff in this hotel are soooOOOooo friendly and helpful that words cannot credit them enough. The hotel has a cleanliness which could embarass most operating theatres. It was immaculate everywhere. Finally the location. It couldn't be better placed for the sightseeing tourist like myself. If you are reading these reviews to decide whether to stay at the Burghotel or not then I really would urge you to book it. You definitely will not regret it.

Stayed at this hotel earlier this week. Around 55 bedrooms ours was on the 5th floor spaced out on 2 levels. Top floor had a modern (looked new to me) bathroom with one of those fancy freestanding bath tubs. Nearby compact area for double bed then a spiral staircase down to a sort of lounge area with tv. Breakfasts at the hotel were good, hotel very clean with friendly and very helpful staff. Didnt have time to try out basement swimming pool. Wifi was "hit and miss" in both bedroom and main part of hotel. But we were out sightseeing so wasn't a real issue. Hotel well placed in quiet road but within easy 8 minute walk of the old town and Christmas Kindle market and the local sights and restaurants. Perfect.

Stayed here during a city break to Nuremberg. Hotel is clean, tidy and traditional. The rooms were exactly as needed; spacious and airy. The bathroom was very small but it had just been newly renovated. Location wise it's a good fifteen minutes walk from the station, so a bit of a trek NB with suitcases over cobbled streets, but you are very close to the old town, castle and main square. Breakfast is fantastic! Everything you would need for any diner. Hot/cold traditional German dishes and French pastries. Definitely worth the €10 extra every day. Basement pool downstairs but a bit creepy and cold if you're on your own. Would love to stay there again. Only one area to improve were the pillows. The saddest thinnest things I've ever encountered in a hotel. Might as well have been sleeping just on the mattress. Would definitely still return though (just sort out the pillows 😉). Thanks for a great stay.

Our room was very spacious and clean. Reception and domestic staff were very friendly and helpful. Central location and breakfast was plentiful. Our criticism was - noisy neighbors, looks like hotel is used for groups of lads to celebrate weekends or stag dos.

Great hotel near the fortress and other museums. Plenty of shopping and restaurants just a few blocks away. The staff was great from the start. Reiner helped us get checked in and gave us some good places to have lunch. The ladies at the hotel fixed us drinks and snacks when we returned later. All the staff were very helpful during our stay. The hotel and rooms were better than expected.

We only stayed overnight and would recommend this older style but clean, quiet and centrally located hotel in the Altstadt. The room and bathroom are small, but you're here to see Nuremberg, not stay in your hotel room. Bathrooms are newly renovated, spotless and have a bath and overhead shower. A big plus is a lift, so no lugging suitcases up flights of stairs. It also has excellent bedside lights. So many hotels we stay in have such poor lighting we have to resort to our flashlights on our phones to see into our suitcases! Staff at the front desk are exceptionally helpful. Loved the jubes on our pillows at night. Excellent breakfast and 7 stars for its presentation and variety. Quite surprising for a small hotel. Some advise if coming by public transport. We caught the train from Haupbahnhof to Lorenzkirche (1) stop and thought we'd walk the 15 odd minutes to the hotel. If you have large suitcases, DON'T! The roads and footpaths are mostly cobblestones and we found it difficult. Catch a taxi instead. When we left, we caught a taxi to the central train station and it cost us 10 euro. Worth every penny.
