The friendly staff greeted us warmly at check-in and assisted us with our inquiries. Our room was spacious, clean, and bright. The floors, bathroom and kitchen area were immaculate. The beds were comfortable, including the sofa bed. Although there were bustling street activities, we couldn't hear anything from our room on the fourth floor. The self-service laundry facility (no coins needed to operate the machines) is convenient although there are two washers but only one dryer. The hotel's location on the pedestrian-only street makes it convenient to walk to the tourist attractions nearby (the main market square, the canals, St Lorenz Church, Schöner Brunnen, etc.), as well as tons of shops and restaurants. However, the downside is, if you arrive by car, prepare to walk with your luggage for a short distance to get to the hotel. There are parking garages nearby and the hotel sent us a message twice with information about parking, which enabled us to plan the drop off point when we arrived by rental car. The Japanese ramen restaurant next door partners with the hotel to serve continental style breakfast. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel and it made it easier for us to explore the beautiful city of Nuremberg.

There are many positives about this hotel: The friendly bilingual front desk staff, the excellent cleaning crews, the spacious room, and the fantastic location all come to mind. The only detractor is how ill fitted the ‘kitchen’ is. Suggestion: Send someone down to the dollar store to pick up a dish washing sponge (as there wasn’t one in our room), some tea towels (ditto) and either a sharp knife or a knife sharpener as the sole steak knife found in the drawer was useless. Cooking oil and condiments would be appreciated too.

Dear GlobeTrotting809621, We are very pleased that our employees have been noticed positively through their friendliness and willingness to help. We will be happy to spread the praise throughout the entire team. Regarding your suggestions: Unfortunately our supplier does not supply adequate sponges, which is why we only have a few at the front desk in case someone asks for one. Though there should have been a rag for cleaning dishes. Tea towels should be in the room as well, below the sink. The knife we will definitely talk about, we haven't had any complaints there so far but we will certainly check their condition and take into consideration buyin new ones. Cooking oil and condiments would sadly need to be thrown away after each new guest, which we do not condone. Thank you for your ideas once again and we will need to sit down and discuss those. Best regards, Lukas & Your Melter Team

Super "neighborhood hotel". Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are bigger than average given the Melter is an aparthotel, with a small kitchenette and dining/sitting area.
Rooms are serviced daily, and while a laundry service isn't offered, there is the much cheaper convenience of two washing machines and a tumble dryer on the first floor.
Breakfasts are good and are served at the hotel's linked restaurant, Monki (see separate review), right next door.
The hotel is extremely well-located - about 5 - 7 mins walk to the train station (via an underground passage), and about an ambling 8 minute walk from the Christkindlmarkt and all the relevant Altstadt sites.
We would very happily stay here again.

We had a studio room that was clean and modern. We missed a closet to hang clothes in - there was a coat rack instead. The two chairs may look modern and stylish, but they are hard and not padded, making them very uncomfortable. The liquid soap in the bathroom is very thick and hardly foams. The cleanliness of the room was great.
The hotel is centrally located and actually quiet outside, but you can hear a lot from the adjoining rooms and the rooms above. On the second night, for example, it sounded like children/teenagers were running around in the room above until after midnight.
The staff were always very friendly. But when I asked for decaffeinated coffee capsules, the lady at reception seemed a bit confused, looked for a while and finally gave me some with caffeine. She said they were decaffeinated, but they were exactly the same capsules that I already had in the room - with caffeine.
The kitchen team at breakfast made an effort and put plant-based milk for our coffee and some store-bought spreads on the table. Instead of egg dishes, we were given rice with vegetables, which was not only very plain and simple, but also not something you would want for breakfast, not a good alternative to egg dishes. Overall, the selection at breakfast was OK, but there was just nothing special, everything was very standard.

The hotel room was spacious, modern and even had a small kitchenette with cooking facilities as well as coffee and tea. Due to the central location you can reach everything on foot in the city center. At the main station you are also very fast. The breakfast is not quite cheap but highly recommended. Here you can actually get everything you want up to a glass of sparkling wine. Various fresh coffee and tea variants and egg preparations will make you start your day well. We were around to be very satisfied and would love to come back.

To me it seems the people running this hotel have thought things through from the perspective of a traveller. The location is ideal for a tourist. The front desk staff were very friendly, helpful, and polite. There is not an expansive lobby/lounge area but who really hangs out in a hotel lobby anyway? As someone on a three week trip with only carry-on luggage, the fact that there was free laundry equipment meant a lot! Our room was well laid out and comfortable, with USB ports and multiple electrical sockets available. The bed linens and pillows were the best we’d had to that point in our trip and the shower was great. We enjoyed the Nespresso coffee maker and the balcony area outside our room. We did not subscribe to the breakfast offered for 18€/pp. There is a nice bakery 100 meters up the street where we could get breakfast for two for the same amount. The decor is minimalist to the point of Spartan but everything was clean and well maintained.

The location is at the entrance to the old city.
I made a reservation without any expectations, but after making the reservation, I received pleasant information emails, including a reservation confirmation email and an information email.
The day before arrival, I received an email with parking information and check-in instructions.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was impressed by the bright smile of the front desk staff. I opened a city map and provided guidance on tourist attractions and restaurants, as well as clear answers to all my questions.
As soon as I entered the room, I was greeted by a spacious room with a kitchenette that made me forget about the stuffiness of European hotels.
Anyway, it's the best
really!! Be sure to visit a Japanese ramen restaurant

This is a lovely hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Old City, and is also very close and easy to get to from the train station or other transportation. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Towels and linens are very high quality, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. As an added bonus, the rooms are air conditioned, and it was incredibly quiet, especially for being in the heart of such a busy part of the city. We very much enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return.

We've stayed at Melter Apartments before and experienced the same level of service, cleanliness and perfect breakfast as before. This hotel is ideally situatied to visit musea, go sightseeing and shopping whilst being close to the train station and tube. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful (thanks again for the late check out and the free drinks in our room) and the rooms are wonderfully comfortable. We booked the 'Deluxe Apartment' which is ideal for a family of three with a double bed and a single (beds are really comfortable). The shower is an experience in and of itself (rainshower with Retterspritz products) and even a Yoga mat is provided should you wish to stretch those old bones. Don't miss the excellent breakfast when you're there. Egg dishes are prepared on order and taste great (not to be compared with the hour old dried up bits of egg one may find at other places). Besides the egg dishes, a buffet offers anything one could possibly want and gives you a nice start of the day, ready to explore the beautiful (old) city of Nürnberg. We are massive fans of Melter apartments and will certainly be back before long.

We stayed at the Melter for three nights and were very satisfied all round. As requested, we got a quiet apartment, spacious, well-kept and attractive. We even had a balcony. Service and staff were excellent. The breakfast was very good. Friends who were staying at the Grand Hotel Nuremberg were envious of us, especially because of the beautiful apartment and the uncomplicated, friendly and helpful people at reception. We parked our car around the corner in a parking garage at a reduced rate.

Dear Yiplam, as we are located at the beginning of the pedestrian zone we do not have own parking facilities at the hotel. We recommend to use the public car park "Katharinenhof" which is just 300 m away from the hotel. We do have special hotel conditions there: 1 day for 12 € or 2 days for 20 €. The adress is: Dörrersgasse. Please let me know if you have any further questions in the meantime. Kindest regards, Your Melter Team
