A great location, just a few minutes walk to the centre (maybe 10-15 minutes from Marienplatz), near a tram stop (Ottostrasse) so very handy when you've got luggage. On a quiet enough street (no bars or nightlife), so good for a good night's sleep. In off the street a bit, so keep an eye out for the small sign. The... More

the price is quite valuable. It is just across the road to central station. Nearby there is the imbiss for turkish food. it opens in early morning. Not so far away there is the supermarket. It takes around 40 - 50 min walk to Hofbraeuhaus. It takes around 20-30 min walk to the city center. There is no free wifi.

The hotel is ideally situated, very close to the Pinakoteken and Galerie Handwerk. As it is located between the houses, you can't really hear the streets, another plus. And the breakfast is really nice. The cooked egg was still a bit runny, they had several sorts of rolls and breads and they even served a fruit tea. Friendly staff as... More

I read that this hotel was used in the 1930's by the Nazis, but the owner told me that the original hotel burned in the war, the part I stayed in was the old garden house. Because of Oktoberfest I was lucky to get a room anywhere in town for only 70 Euros. This included a 'buffet' breakfast for 5... More

the location is excellent, at karolinenplatz, very close to downtown and on the 27 tram line, especially given that munich, oddly, has so few hotels that are truly central. the problem with the specific location is that the hotel is one of those munich interior courtyard buildings. you have to walk down a long alley, dark at night, to get... The Hotel Marienbad is located in the middle of what used to be the government section of Munich in the 1930's and 40's. The hotel itself once served as office space and sleeping quarters for a certain German political party of that vintage. It's a very easy walk to the center of the old city and is a fine choice... Pension hotel with large rooms, good breakfast and great service. Quiet in the immediate area, but only a 5 minute walk to Karlsplatz and 20 minutes walk to Oktoberfest. Although the prices were inflated for Oktoberfest, this hotel didn't seem to have increased prices as much as other places and still had availability when I booked a month before our... More

So I unknowingly traveled to munich while a huge conference was to take place. So that's part of the reason that this hotel rate was jacked up. I ended up with a very large room that was supposed to be a suite. The room was large like a suite, but had the feeling of being a bit too old, so... More

Stayed here on the last weekend of Octoberfest. Managed to get a single room that was not too over the top in price compared to other places. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good range of food available at breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite close to city centre, only a short walk away but the neighbourhood... More

I stayed at this hotel over Oktoberfest and it was perfect. Great location. We could easily walk to Marienplatz and the train station, but it was very quiet. The staff was wonderful and helped us out with directions and recommendations. The breakfast was adequate. Some of my favorite features was that parking was free and they kept the key at... More
