Found this via an oldish article in The Guardian highlighting the 'Top 10 Hotels in Munich' - http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2011/mar/15/munich-hotels-city-breaks - what a find! The review is spot on. The pension is located in a lovely neighbourhood with fantastic restaurants, shops and bars nearby. The Kaisergarten restaurant/bar is particularly good and just round the corner. It's a 40 minute walk into the...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights this past July. It was a good location -- not too hard to find and about a 10 minute walk to the U-Bahn stop. It would have been nice if a tram ran down the street but at least we didn't have that extra noise. It is near a church which...

We stayed here on two separate occasions, starting off in a twin room (shared bathroom and toilet) and later a double room (shower in the room, toilet in the hall). The twin room has a TV, basin, wardrobe and a small table with two chairs. Similar furnishings were found in the larger double room, plus a sofa and two day...

Pension Kaiserplatz was the perfect B&B for our travel needs. It is an affordable pension on a quiet residential street, which gives you a feeling of coming "home" at the end of a busy day. The bustling Marienplatz, University, Odeonplatz, Englischen Garten, etc. are easily accessed by UBan (or by simply walking as we did, a fun, easy and interesting...

An enormous room with plenty of beds for our girls weekend get together. This pension has everything you need, it's no frills perhaps but actually when you can get up and go and ask for breakfast it's brought to your room - ours fitted with a lovely old table, settee and chairs to lounge about on having breakfast in our...

Pension am Kaiserplatz is not for everyone. The rooms are small and the beds a bit hard and short. There are showers in the room but the toilet is shared and in the hall. The breakfast is tasty and fresh but not particularly varied. That said, I love this place!! It has been family run for decades, it is in...

Cosy and warm B&B, friendly welcome, free wi-fi and spacious rooms. Breakfast served in the room is a nice touch although it's not that generous. Overall, a great place to stay and good value for money.

Finding a room in Munich during the Octoberfest was not easy. After much searching we e mailed Pension "am Kaiserplatz" and they confirmed the resevation at once, no credit cards number, nothing!!! When we arrived, what a surprise!! You enter throught a large wooden door into a turn of the century pension. Frau Jacoby herself showed us our room, on the...

Simple, friendly, basic lodging in a B&B style. I imagine that most people won't like basic nature of this place with a shared toilet in the hallway, but I love the simple nature of this place. The location can't be beat and it is a quiet oasis in the heart of Munich. Best for the more 'quiet' traveler who seeks...

* It is not directly in the centre - the closest U-Bahn is Münchner Freiheit and it takes about 4 stops to the centre. The guesthouse is situated in nice calm and interesting part of Munich called Schwabing (I recommend just to walk through the area a bit, it is really nice..) * The service was great, the owners are...
