Alpenstuben offers a true cozy Bavarian alpine experience, within sight of the Neuschwanstein castle. The location is right in the middle of the tiny village of Hohenschwangau. The property is charming and friendly. Meal service is superb and reasonable. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but a little spartan. (There is no coffee maker in the room and I was unable...

This is a buyer beware experience - it is a great location for visiting the castles with easy ticket access in exchange for a dated hotel with paper thin walls. We could literally hear our neighbors talking. Overall it was probably worth it, especially after watching the ticket lines on a freezing cold snowy day, but don't expect a sound...

Though the place is small, it is very quaint, service and staff were second to none. Once we parked, we did not have to drive anywhere to see anything. They even arranged for the tickets for both castles and saved us a bunch of time

Took a day excursion thru Gray Line Tours from Munich to see the castles. Stopped at Hotel Alpenstuben for lunch before hiking up the hill to King Ludwig ll castle. Food was good, place was friendly & clean, service polite & fast to accommodate those with timed tickets for the castle. This was the only restaurant with available seating for...

Our room had a view of the Castle. That was worth this booking. Parking easy. Good WiFi for only two devices. They guarantee tickets and not standing in long, long line. No elevator and our room on the 3rd floor!!! Staff friendly and everyone spoke English perfectly. Close to very quaint town with wonderful restaurants!!

the bad: We were given a wifi code for only 2 devices. They did give us another so 4 devices could be connected but we actually needed 3 more codes for our phones. There was no electric kettle in the room for hot water and coffee. Breakfast didn't open until 8am so I would have enjoyed some coffee in my...

We rented Romance Room 3, and while it's WAY smaller than the photos on the website, it was a lovely room with a comfortable bed. We arrived later than the check in time, and they did call to tell us to hurry up and get there as soon as possible. (Husband insisted we could check in at 10 when I...

I opted to stay at Hohenswangau itself and chose Hotel Alpenstuben. Don't bother parking at the hotel itself as you will have to move after a certain time and there is very limited parking anyway. There is a public carpark located conveniently just opposite the hotel. The daily parking is 6 Euros/day and you can purchase the ticket from the...

Hello, thank you for your feedback, but there must be a misunderstanding. We never charged EUR 75,00 for Parking, we charge EUR 6,00 for Parking. Why should we charge such a high amount for that, if there was a mistake in your bill we are sure it could have been solved directly otherwise please contact us and send us the...
