I stayed in the Hotel Alte Post for three days during a Christmas tour of Germany. The first thing that I must report is that Oberammergau is stunningly beautiful in the snow. I felt as if I had stumbled onto the set of a Hollywood movie. Oberammergau lies high in the German Alps. There is one peak nearby, the Kofel,...

Loved it. Just perfect. Our room was very comfortable, clean, warm and spacious. The food and the restaurant was exceptional we spoilt ourselves with Christmas Dinner and had a full five course meal. Excellent, very tasty and prepared and served with pride and much love for what they do. Breakfast was the norm with the added benefit of ordering eggs,...

We loved it from check in to check out. The decoration of the room was pleasant. Room was well-heated as well as bathroom, very welcome in the snowy weather. Wifi worked perfectly and there is a private parking place just next to the hotel. Everything we needed for our two-day stay in the area. We even tried the restaurant :...

Stayed here one night, before castles tour. Very nice atmosphere. Rooms with a touch of the old good Europe, cozy and comfortable. Large and modern bathroom. No air conditioner, but I don't think it's necessary there. Lovely town and beautiful views.

I have stayed in the Alte Post many times for business, but this is the 1st time I have written a reveiw about it. We had a 'comfort room' this had no balcony but overlooked the main stret, it was perfectly OK, quite spacey, a little dark but an old style bedroom with character which seems to have been replaced...

This little hotel in this little town is the perfect place to "wind down" from the rigors of "big city" vacationing. We scheduled a couple of nights at the Hotel Alte Post after several days in Munich. While Munich was also incredible, it is a large city with everything that comes with it, noise, crowds, fast-paced, etc., Oberammergau is exactly...

I visited the restaurant after a long drive, and it fully recovered us. The salad was fresh, the main course was excellent (fish) and the Bavarian wheat beer was heavenly (excuse me, I did not drive). We enjoyed the atmosphere, we felt centuries-long chain. I do appreciate this place, as well as whole Oberammergau.

The Alte Post was a favorite spot for our family. Rooms are spacious, well appointed. Everything very clean and the restaurant in the hotel has excellent food. We took all our meals in the hotel. Great service, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this hotel. It overlooks the city center and the lovely woodcarving shops, with an impressive view of...

We stayed at the Alt Post for two nights in November with friends visiting us from the States. The hotel reception was warm and helpful when we checked in. Happily there was an elevator to get us to the third floor, our rooms were next to each other as requested. Both rooms were warm, clean, and medium in size. The...

Hotel in traditional Bavarian stile with cosy garden is located in fantastic nice place. Hotel’s stuff is kind and thoughtful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with wireless internet . In the restaurant with old fashion decoration served typical Bavarian food and very good beer. This hotel is also in a perfect location to explore that very beautiful section and castles...
