At 19:30 this evening 15th March we both + our grand daughter came back to the hotel ,we asked the rude women about which restaurant is open in the hotel for dinner ,we got ugly answers ,not polite at all !1111She even told us to go out from the hotel, but she didn’t know that we are staying here in a very wonderful suite !1111 We went to eat in the Graff zeppelin hotel because of her, we are waiting to get apologise, we can’t believe that in a LHW is working such a woman.
Our 5th stay at the Stuttgart Althoff. Love it for its close proximity to both the train station, the park and the shopping street! We had a great room with a super view and balcony! The service is always spectacular! Love their coffee! The restaurant has the most delectable array of cakes and pastries! Even their ice creams are delicious!
I just came back from a stay at the Hotel Althoff in Stuttgart. The location is excellent if you want to be close to the main train station and the shopping area. I had been to the rival hotel Steigenberger before and the Althoff is slightly better as it is next to the park. The staff was friendly, although I had a room maid knock at my door at 7:30 am to ask for housekeeping (I guess she wanted to get going with her work - better planning from hotel management with cross check on check out in the system would help). The room was poor. Small, antiquated heating with radiators. Room temperature could only e controlled by keeping the window open. Bed duvets and pillows were poor and the bed quality was also at the lower end of the spectrum. The bathroom was tiny - more like in a budget hotel. Covid rules were according to German government rules (3G, check of certificate at both check in and bar). The breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular or special. The service was good. Same as the Steigenberger. Overall a bit antiquated - the Althoff seems to be stuck in the 70/80ies and must have received the last modernization at that time. Its main competitor the Steigenberger is the same. I hope that when Stuttgart 21 will be finished the hotels will also invest in a more modern look and feel, better and rooms and more comfortable beds. Value for money: The Steigenberger is slightly cheaper and I don't think the rating in Tripadvisor is reflective of the overall quality of the hotel.…
The hotel, lobby and our room were very nice and the staff was very accomodating. The location is excellent near the train station and between the park and pedestrian shopping. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
booked for 2 nights & extended for the third. Location is fantastic, next to the centre and the park. Nice and safe place, very friendly & helpful staff allover the hotel (reception, room service) Parking on site and easy access. Room size is very good and clean bit uncomfy beds but was fine bathroom was good needs a gym to be honest but overall is top notch
We had a lovely stay at the Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten. The staff without exception are friendly and couldn't do more for you. The menu at present is limited but this is totally understandable and there was something there for everyone. The breakfast on the terrace facing the Schlossgarten was just the most relaxing start to the day....again helped by particularly lovely staff. The Air Con worked well, keeping the room a very comfortable temperature.
Stayed here for two nights in July - booked one night on points through LHW's Leader's Club. Was so pleasantly surprised that I cancelled the next night on Le Meridien and booked another night (140 EUR) here. Everything was excellent, from check-in to check-out. The hotel is directly opposite the Main Station, so arriving from Frankfurt by train and getting to the hotel was a breeze. Check-in went swiftly. Was given an extremely comfortable room on 6th floor. They upgraded me to a deluxe room, I think, due to my LC membership. The room was great! Large and airy, with a sofa, a couple of chairs, desk and a king size bed. It was also equipped with a good quality coffee machine. The room provided commanding views of the Palace Gardens and the hills surrounding Stuttgart. It was wonderful to have powerful A/C during my stay, as Stuttgart was pretty hot! The room had many conveniences, such as sewing kits, bathrobe, slippers, umbrella and so on. The toiletries from Penhaligon's was a huge plus! There was also a welcome gift, a bottle of good red wine, waiting for me at the table :) Visited the Summer Terrace (cafe/restaurant) and the bar, both twice. Nice to sit outside, watching life in the busy park go on - lots of people and birds (geese, swans, ducks). Food and drinks was great. The bar was also nice. Top notch service from the staff both places. Had breakfast included due to my LC-membership. You have the option of sitting inside in the restaurant or outside on their balcony. Food was fresh and of great quality. Freshly squeezed orange juice, sparkling wine, different types of salmon, selection of fresh and very nicely cut fruits - everything was very inviting. They also provided a meny of made-to-order items, such as omelettes, eggs, pancakes and so on. I ordered an omelette, and it was great! Service was top notch here as well, loved the lady and the gentleman who was on duty here. Service was great overall. Front desk were cheerful and efficient. Housekeeping was great - hotel is immaculately clean. From the outside the hotel does not look nice, a very sad piece of architecture. But it's very nice on the inside. Maybe not in 2021 fashion, but that feels little refreshing these days - it has an elegant "old world" feeling, which I love. The location couldn't be better. Sights, shopping, cafees, restaurants, bars are all in the immediate area. This is easily the premier hotel of Stuttgart, and I would definitely love to stay here again. Upon departure - going back to Frankfurt by train - the receptionist offered me a bottle of cold water for the journey. I deeply appreciate small things like this. They master the art of unrivalled service, and they definitely know their attention to detail. Which truly makes a great hotel.…
Stayed here end of August and it was everything that you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Room was comfortable and had some nice touches, although you could see where the odd bit of works needs to be done. We had a Park Suite which like all suites is on the top floor. This was the only hotel of the 4 that we stayed at during our trip around the south west that offered full service. No restricted menu in the restaurant, breakfast was one of the best in a very long time. The staff were all ways there, the breakfast crew remembered our name and what we had the day before. Location is central and ample parking below.
Very friendly and helpfull staff what make you feel very welcome!! The hotel had everything I needed and it was in an excellent location, being in a lovely area with lots of places to enjoy and explore. The room was lovely super clean, well maintained with a comfortable bed. Well done to all concerned!
Stay here just for a saturday overnight . Even if staff , location and service/food are great , definitly not a 5* The room I had was too small for the price and for a LHW 5*. Too old bathroom also with WC in the same place, broken window so you hear the noisy park at night . Definitly never understand why this kind of thing already happens in a 5* ! Don't want to bother staff with this , they are so great and friendly . But please How could you allocate rooms with windows that cannot correctly be closed ? you stay at the hotel for SLEEPING so that's should be the FIRST thing to check. When entering the room , you hear the loud noise coming from the park through the window ! Better enjoyed with my last stay at le Meriden or The graf Zepelin but choose Hotel am Schlossgarte because of works in progress in front of le Meridien and Graf Zepelin closed actually. …
