A great find .lovely clean rooms ,comfy beds and interesting restaurant. If you travel with either a classic car or a car full of stuff this hotel has an excellent underground secure car park. The hotel is easily accessible from the motorway .I have and will stay again .
Over the years we stayed several times at the Waldhotel. I like the warm and professional service, the location in the forest giving you a holiday experience and plus the nice rooms in the historic part. It is certainly among my favorite hotels. We will be back in due time.
Booked a wheelchair accessible room including breakfast. Only the "Standard Doppelzimmer" rooms are available for wheelchair users. Room is pretty small, only 17,5 m² in total. Nice design etc., but I prefer a larger and more functional room instead of a design room. The bathroom is very small for a wheelchair user, compared to many other hotels. Shower has a seat, but you can't keep your wheelchair in the bathroom, unless you want it washed also. There is no shower curtain, and you easily flood the complete bathroom. Room has a nice terrace, fully accessible. Very quiet environment. The bed is large (180x200 cm) but very firm. Not very comfortable if you have back or shoulder issues. The room was clean. Very good and extended breakfast, friendly staff. The free car parking has one reserved spot for disabled. The parking spot could be a little bit wider, especially if you have to open your car's door fully to get your wheelchair out. Didn't visit the paid underground parking (paid, 12 EUR/night).…
The Waldhotel is a beautiful place in a lovely setting. The spa and kitchen are both amazingly run and of the highest standard. Our room was functional and clean but the interior design lacks colour and imagination. Unfortunately at the last night the shine was taken when the wrong wine was served and the restaurant manager insisted at the end that we were to cover the mistake which we refused. It was an unpleasant exchange which spoilt the excellent our stay. It should be said however that the following morning the management acknowledged the error and corrected the bill. The staff ought to be trained to an appropriate standard to the high level of the hotel.
It is with huge regret that I must write this review of the Wald Hotel. Nine days ago, I checked out of this hotel after a wonderful stay. I paid the amount in full with my debit card on the morning of my departure. I left feeling relaxed and happy having enjoyed a much-needed mini-break to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday. On my arrival back home, I noticed that a second 'pending' transaction to the Wald Hotel for £790 was on my bank account, even though I had paid in full and the amount had been deducted from my account. Despite various email apologies from the hotel for this second 'pending' charge, this has still not been resolved 9 days later, leaving me with £790 of my money inaccessible. This on-going saga has been stressful and has, unfortunately, overshadowed my perception of this hotel. If you stay there, please check your bank accounts when you get home.…
My wife and I came to Stuttgart to attend a music event and made a long weekend of it. The location in the leafy suburbs of Stuttgart is ideal for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The best part is that you are only about 400m from the Waldau U-bahn station which takes you right to the centre of Stuttgart. Take the U7 line to Monchfeld and get off at Schlossplatz in the city centre; it’s about 5 Stops and cost less than €10 return for two of us. You get the same line back towards Ostfildern and trains run until after midnight. It was just so easy. On arrival we were given a free upgrade which included some free drinks each day in the mini-bar and a room with a balcony looking out in to well-kept hotel grounds and in to the forest. Sitting out in the morning listening to the birds was just lovely. The room was spacious with a traditional touch and a very modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a large frosted glass panel that allows light in during the day but also has the misfortune of lighting up the whole room at night if someone uses the bathroom. There was also a Nespresso coffee making machine which I loved. We didn’t take breakfast but did eat in the restaurant on the first evening. We arrived late due to traffic and they were really flexible moving our booking back an hour to allow us to freshen-up. The food was delightful, we both had different steak variations and both were delicious. We followed this with a mini cheeseboard (it’s enough for two) and several glasses of Prosecco for less than €100. The staff in the restaurant and the bar were so friendly and helpful it was just a pleasure to be here. I also took advantage of the wellness facilities in the shape of the steam room and sauna. The area was set out nicely with an outdoor relaxation area outside the sauna. Be aware (Fellow Britons) the area is mixed gender; the shower area, steam room and sauna are not places for the modest, nudity is not an issue here. I just joined in (When in Rome and all that). It was a very relaxing experience. All in all this a great hotel, far enough from the city to enjoy the tranquility with excellent transport links to enjoy a night out. The facilities and the staff were first-class. If I return to Stuttgart, I will stay here for sure.…
My husband and I just spent three lovely nights in the junior suite at the Waldhotel. It was our fourth time staying there; we always stay when we attend concerts in downtown Stuttgart. Prior to our most recent visit, we've always stayed in superior rooms, which have always been perfectly nice. This time, I wanted to try the junior suite. I was not disappointed. From check in to check out, we got warm, friendly service from the staff, and we enjoyed a very comfortable stay in unique accommodations. The junior suite is room 500-502 in the older part of the hotel. You climb a small flight of stairs to get to it. Room 500 is a small bedroom that can be rented as part of the junior suite. Since there were just two of us, we didn't need it. The room offers a beautiful marble shower "room", a huge bathtub behind the bed, his and hers sinks, a sitting room, and plenty of storage. The housekeeper was very attentive and brought us tea with little cookies each night. We were also presented with a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of Riesling and chocolates with fresh fruits. The junior suite doesn't have the views of the forest afforded in the superior rooms, nor does it have the fabulous shower with mood lighting that are in the newer rooms. However, it's nicely appointed and very private. We really enjoyed our stay. I must also give a shout out to Angelo, the charming Italian bartender who works in the evenings. He always makes our stays at the Waldhotel more fun. We've stayed in several Stuttgart area properties and Waldhotel is easily our favorite. I'm sure we'll be back for a fifth visit!…
Located in green and airy Degerloch, in a quiet recreational area, we found this the place to relax for a stopover on our trip. Excellent service, spacious rooms, leafy surroundings, friendly staff. It has a restaurant and a bar, so you needn‘t go out unless you want to.
We were in Stuttgart for a fair at the Messe and were looking for a close hotel at a reasonable price. We had a car so transportation was not a problem but free parking would be nice. This hotel checked all the boxes for us, close enough at a good price. If you are going to the fair without a car then this hotel may not work. The train station is right there but it runs to downtown and not easy access to the fair, a taxi is about 25eu. The breakfast was included and was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. There are 2-3 places to go eat within a 5-10 minute walk. I would choose this hotel again for my next stay, a nice find thanks to other reviews.
Stayed in this quaint hotel for one night during a recent business trip to Stuttgart. Convenient for both city centre and the airport. Has a country/boutique hotel feel to it and is very discreet, even had a very famous German ex-Wimbledon champion on the next table during breakfast! Rooms are large and well equipped, including a Nespresso machine. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Fine dining also available inside the hotel, or several local restaurants just a short taxi drive away. Highly recommended!
