This hotel is quirky, historic and beautifully situated within a ten minute walk to the centre of beautiful Heidelberg. Our greeting from the lady host was warm and friendly, immediately putting us at ease and delighting us with the history of the building. The bedroom was comfortable and characterful. We ate in Le Gourmet restaurant: beautifully presented food and well...

A very old building full of history of the university and the duelling that used to happen here. Very interesting stories told by our lady host and the rooms were very comfortable if rather eccentrically decorated in original old Laura Ashley materials and wall paper. We were made very welcome and there was handy parking outside the hotel

Dear Gay B, Thank you for your visit and your posivtive feed-back. We like your expression "quirky" as to our atmosphere, since this is the result, of an ongoing design process over many years to calibrate a certain mood within the history of the house. Looking forward to welcome you back again in the Hirschgasse we reamin with warmest regards,...

Stayed here one night on way South. From the moment we arrived the treatment was superior. The welcome is personal and attentive. The staff are superb. The rooms are comfortable. Parking is a bit cramped but close and adequate.I highly recommend. Only negative was check out as the staff member was quite brusque which was odd given the treatment we...

Dear Waikae1, Thank you for your visit and positive rating, also for your comment on the check out - this should really never occur. Perhaps you can give me more information, so I can go deeper into the actual situation, perhaps there was a misunderstanding, or special circumstances? You can use my personal email direktion@hirschgasse.de which reaches me directly. Please...

We stayed at this hotel on the outward and return leg of a journey from Amsterdam to Austria and were not disappointed. The staff are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them - you are welcomed with a drink and the history of the hotel. Both rooms we had were luxurious and the bathrooms were spacious....

We recently stayed at this hotel for two weeks. Beginning right from the time we checked in the staff could not do enough for us. Marcella greeted us with a brief history lesson, gluhwein, and some little treats before we were shown to our room. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is very close to Old Town and...

Dear LucyAustralia, Thank you very much for your visit. We sadly miss you on our "rota" since you were such a welcome daily enrichment for our team, telling us all about your new ventures you have made and sharing your "expedition experiences". We like it, if guests stay longer, because we can show more what we can do and learn...

We stayed at the Hotel Die Hirschgasse over 2 nights enroute to the south and Switzerland and Italy in August 2016. The property is extremely charming, as are the staff, who are polite and accommodating. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel, up 2 flights of stairs and consisted of a large suite with both a bedroom...

Dear globalhol, Thank you so much for the profound lines describing your stay with us. You stayed actually in the Maisonette Suite which actually gives a little bit of a little house and home feeling. "air con" - I wonder what Mark Twain - our historic VIP would have made out of this modern habbit of "cooling down living flesh"...

The Hotel is located in a very old building and each suite is unique. Please take time for checking as it last about 45 minutes. You will get at first a glass of Sekt and a cold Watermelon jus with Mints foam. Then you will get an explanation of the history of the building as well as Heidelberg. The stay...

Quite simply brilliant, but perhaps I should get out more. 4 poster bed with decor to match. We only had time to stay 2 nights as part of a 10 day road trip taking in Germany, Austria, Italy & Switzerland. My lasting memory is the 7 course breakfast that commenced with the waitress "introducing" us to what had been freshly...

Dear Voyaguer5510, Thank you for your very nice comment and top rating. We do not know which of our restaurants you visited, since we have two: the Le Gourmet - and the Mensurstube. Hotel managed by the owners who were ready to talk about the area and give advice and explain the historical significance of the building. Easy walking distance from the Old Town and the Old Town train station and just a short step away from the famous Philosopher's Way. Lovely breakfast in rooms full of the student duelling history of Heidelberg.

Dear Chris and Joan, We always thrilled, if our guests manage to arrive by train at our "own" train station Karlstorbahnhof "Altstadt" which unveils to the arriving visitor the William Turner perspective of the castle.
