This is a comfortable hotel in a huge old mansion on a leafy quiet street a few minutes by taxi from the train station and a block or so from where the cobblestones of the Old City begin. (If you have ANY walking problems get a room on the first floor, as the winding stairs were way challenging for me... More

My husband and I came in late one evening. The owners saved us a parking spot when we asked/paid for one, snd left our room key for us in a locked dropbox which was convenient. This hotel was easy to access, had their own parking (which was nice since they are located on a private street), was clean, and easily... More

The hotel was very easy to access and well located near the tram station in the centre of the city. The breakfast was excellent with a big variety of choices. Also, the room was decent enough and warm.

Our son first booked us into the Hotel Alleehaus about 15 years ago when he was a student in Freiburg. We have stayed there several times since then, most recently in June of 2015. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and rather large for this price and by German standards. It is an easy walk to the most important... More

My husband and I stayed in the main building on the 2nd floor. Our room was spacious ( as far as hotels in Germany go!) and the bathroom was very nice. The hotel was super close to the main area. We walked everywhere - many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The cathedral is a short walk as well. Breakfast... More

The location is nice, just outside the old city center, and staff are helpful and friendly. But the rooms in the 'next-door-building' are modest, to put it mildly, and overpriced for the comfort they offer. Any hostel will offer better value for less money. Breakfast is excellent though. I can't speak for the rooms in the main building.

I stayed here for 4 nights and was very impressed. We had a large room with a window to the street. It was quiet, spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. The location was fantastic, in a residential street just outside the old town of Freiburg. The free wifi was good and fast. The building... More

Good choice as it sits near the center of town, but isn't burdened by the proximity. There are parking places in the rear of the hotel, and the usual continental breakfast is optional. The hotel itself is a nice old building, with several rooms on each floor. A common breakfast-eating area off the foyer and front desk area. The rooms... More

The hotel has an excellent location, close to every touristic atraction in Freiburg. The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable, however the room smelled quite bad, I had to open the windows for a while. Also, in the room next door there was a dog that did not stop barking everytime anyone passed by, it was very annoying. I have... More

We had difficulty finding accommodations in Freiburg for the nights we needed. I reluctantly booked a stay at Hotel Alleehaus because it had the best location and price. We were pleasantly surprised! The outside of the hotel is really quite lovely. It looked nothing like I had imagined from the picture. The room was comfortable and pleasant. We found the... More
